Spence would be ideal as he's also homegrown. I do think he has the quality to play that role so just needs the discipline. Hopefully the money saved helps with other incomings.

It's very good news.
Retaining Spence really gives us flexibility with his HG status and means that we don't have to go for another fullback. I can see links to KWP disappearing after this news

If Spence can fulfill his very clear and obvious talent then it saves us buying competition for Porro which is a big plus.

Visions of Levy shouting “delay, delay” into his headset over a potential money saving incident. Ange has drawn the lines and deems that Djed isn’t off. Lange confirms “check complete”. Munn signs off: “Well done boys, good process”.

Yep. Time for bed.

I’m liking Hercs info on Spence. He’s looked very good in the two games so far. (Spence not Herc😃)

Goals, assists and great cover tackles in defense. His link up play with Bergvall, Moore and Gray 👍🏻

And Spence has featured alot in the behind the scenes videos so far which I thought was interesting. Great news. Does probably mean Gray will be used in midfield only, does one of skipp, bents, biss now need to depart?

Great news on Spence. If he can get anywhere close to his potential he could be a huge asset to us and saved funds can be put to good use.

Much over-used cliché on here, and in general, but if Spence does end up playing a part under Ange it will indeed be like a new signing.

Considering we'd struggle to command a fee in double digits for him at this point, and would certainly make a loss if he was moved on, it would be a huge win to get him playing and playing well.

Not to mention that's one area we don't need to spend on (there were talks about KWP etc if Emerson leaves), freeing up additional funds for the rest of the squad. Lovely stuff.
