I'm quite looking forward to Sept 1st. As it stands, we could have a team of beasts taking on Arsene's walking wounded...

It would be like Space Jam when the Spurs monsters surround a rag tag bunch of clumsy and scared Arsenal gimps.
When it comes to playing them, i'm taking nothing for granted :(

How can i donate to this wonderful site
If you go to the front page you'll see a donate button to the upper right hand side of the page. Assuming you're not on a mobile that is. If you are on a mobile, you'll have to wait until you get onto a desktop i'm afraid.

Thanks for the donation (y)

And a huge thanks to everyone who took part in Spunky Tuesday yesterday too. Your donations are the reason we can keep going with so many users logged on at the same time.

Good signings, good transfer window, good rumours, good humour, good forum, good discussions... it called for a donation.
I love this site.

What do we need Damiao for? I'd rather sign Coentrao

I don't get why people say it has to be Bale money

Tens of millions from the new tv deal
Last couple of years under twitch there was little if any overall net spend
Modric and Berbatov money not been invested yet

Levy didn't trust twitch so saved money for a rainy day, he wanted to see how AVB got on in first year before backing him, AVB has proved himself so that rainy day has now arrived

Yesterday was like a dream with all the itk info. Here's looking forward to Willan being made official. Still confused regarding Bale. One itk said plane booked today to take him to Madrid. If so I will miss him like hell. Ive been following Spurs for forty years and I have never seen his like before.

Plus supposed 50m 'loan' from Joe Lewis.

Barnett was going to Madrid on a private jet, not Bale

Slept like a baby, so excited. Since we haven't announced William yet, i will drop a pound for every 1m we spend till close of window. And my bale pledge still stands which i made in the pledge forum.

nb: to add, 50p for every 1m we get for outgoing.

Yeah that too, my workplace is full of numptys saying all day that this spending means Bale is off

It doesn't mean shit, we can easily spend all this without selling Bale or doing a Ridsdale

Despite the temptation to recreate a spunkathon of massive proportions, I'm going to wait till Lamela is holding up the shirt. If he does I recommend you all build an ark and get two of every mod because if your about to see a spaff tsunami.

The Goat bleat about soton expecting money has worried me, otherwise I'd expect Bale to stay. I'm hoping their expectations are because of the media hype rather than official communications with Spurs..

Edit: 14-1 on betfair to stay, not looking good.

I think the money spent up till now (including Willian if it happens) is money that we might have spent anyway, but anything over and above that has to be based on Bale leaving.

I still think this spending is largely underpinned by the knowledge that we will sell Bale at some stage, and the interest in Lamela suggests to me that Bale is gone.

But if we bring in Coentrao, Willian and Lamela then we really are looking very strong.

I really hope we get Lamela as I don't want us to have to rely so heavily on Soldado to get all our goals. Having someone who help can chip in with 10-12 goals a season would be very useful.

Also we seem to have a giant spotlight focused on us right now. I hope this doesn't lead to so called bigger clubs (or those in the Champions League) realising that the likes of Willian and Lamela are available and try to tempt them or push up the prices even further.

Lets get them all :D

Bizness, who is the pimp daddy of all the ITK whores, implied that Bale on a plane story should be taken with a massive plane full of salt

It will be a damn shame if Bale does leave, but I'd like to think of the positives. He's been with us since he was 17. He's been coveted by some of Europe's biggest clubs since at least his hat-trick at the San Siro, yet he's stayed and played a massive part in providing us with some consistency in the league. I'm also glad that he became a world beater when he was still playing with us, as I don't think I've ever seen a Spurs player perform at such a consistently high level before.

He's raised our profile and made it possible for us to even entertain the idea of signing some of the players we've brought in or are looking to sign. Even if the money from his sale isn't related to our incomings, it will play a part elsewhere, such as contributing towards the new stadium. That's a legacy that will last for decades.

He's a magnificent player who hasn't said a single negative word in public about our club. I completely understand his desire to go become the next 'galactico', and I hope he does well there.

I'm beginning to believe that Bale's departure is somehow going to leave us with our strongest ever Premiership team. It's a win-win situation for almost everyone concerned.
