Good morning fartsweepers
I was reading a bit on the front page about how Benteke wanted to have a deal done by the 18th :)grumpy: ) and this section caught my eye.....
Benteke’s agent is currently in Turkey, so no deal is expected to go through today and it is up to Tottenham to raise the £25m required to secure his signature. Chairman Daniel Levy may prefer to take his time, however, in the knowledge that Villa are in a weak bargaining position because the player has expressed his desire to quit the club.
I know this will have the BSoDL up in arms but I thought the article should have read

Suddenly the BSoDL all start singing the Levy anthem.
He does what he wants
He does what he waaaaaaaants
He's Daniel Levy
He does what he wants
Oi! Oi you! Yes, you at the back! Stand to attention when you're belting out this choon. ****.
Joking aside, it got me thinking. When are we going to sign him? Are we actually going to sign him? Who knows? So I thought lets have a poll, therefore................
Today we're going to play Bentake Bingo!
Pick the answer from the poll, the winners get to donate £20 to SC
It's too hot to sit here for long so i'm cutting this short.
That's yer lot
Onions.
PS: Todays word of the day is: Vomitworthy
PPS: If I remember, tomorrow we'll have another poll. It's time to unmask the BSoDL!!!!!

The last 24 hours has brought some pretty positive news but it would be nice to have something confirmed today. Still 4 weeks until the big KO though.

The vibes seem to be that we are definitely looking to buy with the only question being 'who' rather than 'if'. Assuming we don't buy complete turkeys we should be pretty strong with Paulinho already in the bag and Sandro and Kaboul returning.

Wpd's biatches ITK is certainly vomitworthy, if it's about Leandro again.

Please bear with me.

We have ITK that we are close with Benteke
We have ITK that we have a ceiling that we are willing to meet with Benteke
We have ITK that this ceiling might be below Villa's price
We have reports that his agent is in Turkey
We have reports that the player has handed in a TR
We have reports that the player wants this sorted by Thursday
We have unconfirmed reports that AVB has been broken into Levy's house, car, phone and office to set the 18th as Sept 2nd.

Okay I will admit that I made up one of these. But which one? (spooky voice)

So while I remain hopeful, what happens come Thursday? Does he then need to hold out from Villa or does he slink back the Birmingham and wait a year?

Whatever happens with the lad, he has provided some sweet narrative this summer

edit: when I posted this it was 3AM here in the states and I was trying to push out a breast cancer report before vacation. Tons of bad grammar. Sorry about that.

Surely that ship has sailed! Doesn't he have a recurring injury?

There is no current status on wpd's biataaaaaaaaaach. He could have a recurring injury, but that beings said, do ITK's need to 100% physically fit to do their thing? I think they can do their job at 75%

He causes me a recurring injury, severe boredom to the head!
He will be sold this summer that much is obvious. I guess we have Franco to deal with the slippery bastards now, maybe he can finally put this one to bed?

I can't read wpd's assertion that "we're not out of the race for a certain Brazilian" without picturing Donna Cullen being strapped naked to the medical bench and Daniel Levy reaching for the Veet.

I think I need a rest.

I really want us to sign Bernard - he looks amazing and is another classy signing to pull off.

However, I (and I am probably in a very small minority here) would like us to sign Damiao. There, I said it.
When we were linked with him in the past, I loved the idea of us signing a Brazilian striker - now that we have a Brazilian midfield pairing, that desire is even stronger. Imagine if we got Damiao AND Bernard? What if Gomes recovers his form? We could have 5 Brazilians in our starting line-up... Then, if we accept Bale is leaving next summer, we do a swap for Neymar, Under Armour do a yellow and green away kit - forget "it's just like watching Brazil" - we would have most of the team playing for us. Just a few more players to sign at that point to complete the master plan... We could keep enough English players in the squad to satisfy the rules but never play them ... Mwah ha ha ha ha ... Oh, time for my mess.

I think the most fanciful suggestion of this post is that Gomes would recover enough form to oust Lloris from our starting line up.
