Just can't see it happening.
Sure Chief Dan would like a cheque for £80m but it would go against the whole essence of where we are right now and I can't see nice guy Gareth killing his reputation and pissing everyone off by agitating to go.
He loves his football, his manager, the team is being built around him & his missus won't let him go.

As for next year? I think it depends how well the team performs this year:
5th=he's gone;
Scrape Champions League=probably gone;
Challenge for top positions / qualify for CL / win something / great season all round =might stay another year.

He's still young. It's up to us to match his ambition in our performance or we lose him.

And if next year he goes Halilovic takes his place. :)

Luckily you are wrong.
Tim scouted and bought the player. He went against some advice from others to get him. Fryers wanted a big pay rise. Who leaves Man utd to come to spurs as a player? and Fergie knew all of that and made a scene in the press to get back at DL for the years prior on Carrick and Berbs, however he wasnt that sure that Fryers would make it.
I think he needs a championship loan quick. Brighton probably looking for a new LB. He needs to play week in week out to prove if he is good enough because he has looked poor so far

Can't have done much for Sherwood's rep within the club.

Bale won't force a move.

Players aren't stupid (some are) and know how the football world works. They don't sign on the promise that Bale stays.

We have ambition and wan't Bale to stay.

The money spent isn't dependent on Bale going.

If a massive bid comes in Bale is gone.

Just wanted to give a different spin on things from the info I have heard. I'm not trying to cause a shit storm.

Oh I know mate, not getting irritated by it at all. Just discussing it (y)

But players don't say that stuff for no reason. It was obviously pitched to him at some point. And just because he said it doesn't mean he said he signed solely because of it - there is a world of difference between those two things.

AVB saying it is a lot more significant though. Although you could argue that's just protocol. Protecting our asset to the maximum etc.

I personally don't think he will be sold though.

You'r not causing a shit storm at all mate. This is what this forum is all about. Giving your insight on things.

I just really cant see Levy accepting any bids whatsoever.

AVB has mentioned it a few times that he has been "promised" (which is a big word) that our boy wonder will stay. Also our brazilian fella Paulinho seems to be ITK revealing that he has been told that avb and bale will stay.

But i do agree anything can happen.

But not for this season. So therefore those slimy slithering sausage shitheads can piss off and try again next year. (When we have finished 3rd and Bale actually realises that his long term future is here with us) :)

Brazilyid, are you saying we are spending heavily now because we know (or YOU know) there's a stack of dosh coming in later in the window? There's a logic to this, but not a logic I like...

I guess what I'm asking is what, exactly, have you heard?

He literally just said, "The money spent isn't dependent on Bale going."

I must admit when I saw the tenuous links to Soldado today it began to cross my mind. Our we about to go crazy now before we accept a mammoth offer for Bale.

I hope not. I hope its getting our business done early to give AVB the time he needs to start the season properly - plus its showing Bale we intend to really have a go this season. That's what I'm hoping.

I know mate. I urge you to go back and see the quotes from Rebrov before Judas left.

seems some people would rather believe bullshit internet rumours and various bottles of sauces rather than real ITKs AVB, Tim Sherwood and more recently Paul who said he is staying

oh well let people panic themselves. now where's our creative midfield genius signing!?:grumpy:
Looks Like Modric,

Thank you. This thread was heading to an epic shit-fest and you came around and turned it around. Seriously Thank You.

And by trying to be nice and end things early with unwanted pleasantness (which is not my strong point), I at least got some karma.

And this is for you most of all Pascale......my son won all three races with record times and our swim team won by over 100 points in the first meet of summer. That shit's better than any signing :)
Yes, welcome aboard LLM.

Great stuff about your son. Quite a tonking they handed out. Will your son swim for his school and stuff? Will he be a jock (but a really kewl one, not one of those 80's teen movies villain-types)?

It wasnt as straightforward. We were going into the last few days of the window without any forwards and we had a coach who wouldnt budge on his players so wouldnt accept ANY ones being put forward by the committee, It was done inspite of him being there.
Hence the reason why we would let him go this summer if we got our money back.

Spending before you actually have the money? Come on, do you know who our chairman is? It is the bumper new TV deal. There is a lot of money sloshing around the PL at the moment. We can lure players from abroad currently because the money is there. Look at Norwich, Southampton, Swansea and Cardiff all spending early.

Totally understand if you don't want to start answering loads of questions JJ, but which players did AVB turn down then?

It's obvious to me that Bale will be worth as much, if not more, next Summer.

He's happy to stay - so what why sell him?

There's absolutely no chance of him being sold this year.
