Doubt we'd rid of Benny unless we sign a clear improvement. Rose fighting for a place with Benny is the best bet.

Granted, Benny wasn't at his best this season but that may be due to injury. I thought he was excellent the season before and I find it hard to see how we can upgrade on him at 6-7 million. I do not think Rose is better than BAE, and looking at his comments on Facebook (I think it was facebook) at the end of the season I doubt he has the mentality to play for a top team as well.

Though to be fair I guess you could say the same about BAE, but at least he has proven himself. If we are selling him I hope our replacement is of the same mould only without the defensive frailties Benny sometimes displayed.

2 years left on his contract.....no sign on either end of one being offered or getting signed.

It's time to sell and get max value for him.

That Facebook status was just a Fan - page type thing, it wasn't written by Danny.

Disagree. We've already got 3 players in the Bernard mould (Bale, Lennon and Townsend), whereas we've been waiting five years to replace Berbatov. Half decent goalscoring #9s under £25m certainly aren't ten-a-penny.

There's been no credible ITK on Bernard at all. The Cobra one has been the only snippet to make read only.

On Leandro however there's been plenty positive noises from some of the most reputable ITKs like JJetset and Edmonton
How much more credible can you get than his international teammate and colleague saying 'Bernard had in his head a move to Tottenham'?? Jesus...

I had watched atleast 5 Sunderland games where Rose played at LB - he was excellent. May be his team mates were so poor relatively.

Given we have 4 good Center backs & Jan's abiliy to play at LB, I would defintely give a chnace to Rose. Evaluate the need of a LB again in Winter window adnd then decide.

Anoher option is switch to Juve style 3-5-2 fomation with Rose & Walker as wingbacks & Kaboul-Dawson/Caulker-Vert at CB.

9m is a pretty good deal for Dawson. I thought it then and I still think it now. But, he did show he still holds value to our club. I really wasn't sure when he got manhandled against City/Dzeko in his brief substitute appearance, but after that he really did put in the most consistent performance by any of our CBs, Jan included.

The only player that I believe we could land that is worth that 16m Euros (possibly a little more) mark is Alex Sandro.

But, I'd also be cool with Ben Davies or Lucas Digne. It sounds like Digne might be going to PSG, however.

Ben Davies is one player I would go for - Had a great first season and showed immense maturiy for someone playing his first professional season ever.

Why on earth would a Munich player try and pursuade him to go to Dortmund?

I just think our name is being used here as part of another situation, like the Cavani and Kjaer episode.

He must be fairly dense, even by footballing standards, about the geography of Germany. It is nearly 375 miles between the remote Bavarian outpost and the Ruhr city. London is actually closer to Dortmund than Munich is. Most northern Italian towns are closer to Munich. So his plans to hand with his mate are going to cost him a fortune in petrol

maybe Dante's having trouble selling his old house from when he was at Gladbach and is trying to sucker Bernard into buying it :playful:
