Not to dampen the mood but I wonder if we are spending big now because we know we can balance the books next year by selling GB. I hope not but its possible?

Probably the thought if we don't get CL. If we get CL, that money and hopefully more sponsorship money would cover the spending.

for the amount of money to buy soldado i think we should have gone for benteke

Haha, shit, just noticed this.

Yeah let's just say balls to one of Europe's top strikers and pay £25m up front to Villa for a guy who may or may not turn out to be a top player.

increase in TV money and the need to be in the CL would be my guess

We get CL then there is a better chance of an increased deal for a shirt sponsor and then a bigger name and sponsor deal for the stadium.

I think the plan is to get as good a year in as we can, sell GB and put a chunk of the funds into the stadium deal

'Nobody is in for Huddlestone anymore. I get the feeling he just does not want to move'

Turn him into a CB and have done with it. Then we can purchase at least another 2 CM to take his place.

It's a joke!!..We seem to get linked with midfielders.

Even so MrP this is looking like a total 40m deal (4yr ?), do you really think Levy is the type that thinks "fuck the business, if scores goals we're all good"

It would be the most blasé scenario ever in the history of Levy.

Do you also not find it a bit odd that Levy is about to throw down 26m euro on a 28yo (no matter that he's better than Benteke) but baulked at paying similar for a 22yo Benteke ?

I know Baldini is out there and ITK's are saying it's close, but it will be the most out of normal MO transfer we have made under Levy by fucking miles.

I'm not saying it's not going to happen, what the fuck do I know, but if it does, it's either for much less than broadcast or there has genuinely been a massive diversion from our transfer policy of the last 8 years.

Shall we say that Levy is operating under the influence of Baldini?

I'm listening WPD.
Each and every time you've said it ;)

This might help:
'We dont send over Baldini AND Levys minion [to Valencia] if we are just negotiating! The minion is there to cross the T's and Dot the i's [for signing Soldado]'

Unfortunately there's no T'sand I's in Soldado.

Levy probably knows that CL only strengthens our stance with any potential Bale sale. If we get CL, it's hard to imagine Bale making a noise trying to get out, so Levy can either keep Bale or simply wait until he's blown away by an offer.

If we win the EPL and Bale plays a major role in it, the starting bid will be 120 million pounds.

Full name is Roberto Soldado Rillo. So there!
Does levy need his own guy to do such a task though. Man, even I can dot I s and cross the t s.. Sounds like an ego trip to me......

I need to let it go but if AY's info was right and we were working within a £50 million budget post Paulinho purchase, would leave us just the right amount seemingly to secure Bernard.

Bernard, Paulinho, Soldado and Chadli would be the best window I think we'll ever have in my lifetime.

And a ridiculously £67 million deficit... Even take away the Bernard transfer, we're going to be left hugely in the red; would be nice to see us break the mould for once.
