Fuck sake Levy ☹ thanks for the update Trix.

Though I could forgive no Bale if we get a forward.

Even if we get a forward we are still miles from where we need to be. Need something a little bit special like Bale IMO just to keep up, or we're going to get left behind.

Suggests to me it’s all a PR stunt from Levy to show that at least ‘he tried’ but never has any intention to close off the deal as too prohibitive cost wise.

How can it be a PR stunt when we aren't being linked with him by one serious paper or news outlet yet?

If Levy is making small steps because it is a truckload of money, then it is pretty understandable from his perspective as much as we want him to take the risk.

Re Bale.

From someone super close....

Two parties making big strides. One making very small steps indeed.

He really is typecast as far as this one is concerned.

The frustration is building and it won't be long before RM and GB are looking seriously at alternative destinations.
Jesus. If this is just a mild flirtation with a very expensive prostitute that he has no real intention of buying, he needs to fuck off down to Union Street, Plymouth and buy something more affordable before they’re all gone too

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Sorloth fairly highly rated when he signed for Palace?

That said, it’s a really underwhelming name to be linked to - although I can’t say I’m surprised.
Yes he actually was. Lots of talk about him becoming quite the player for Norway & it was a surprise when Palace stole a march on some bigger teams to get him. Then...nada

That isn't remotely surprising. The fact so many have bought into this as per fucking usual is probably more surprising.

Ahh damn we all know how this ends now.

The whole club badly needs a signing like this.

Thanks for the info Trix!

It doesnt have to hit the press for us spurs fans to find out.

Thanks Trix.

I get this though. It's a bit underwhelming but surely quite understandable? The Bale discussion has more heart than head in it to an extent for many, many fans. Very easy and exciting to get carried away with but we have to consider his overall cost.

On the more excitable part of the equation; he was/possibly still is a phenomenal player, potentially signing him gives us an enormous boost in terms of belief, we'd be signing a winner and a game-changing player.

On the more Levy side of things; 31 years old, only played 20 games last year, BIG wages and a potentially chunky loan fee.

The key aspect is that RM wants shot. I think that's the only thing that has us at the table, the fact that they will essentially help financially to get him out the door.

Come on, guys. Even at 50%, £300k per week is insane for us - and that's before a loan fee is chucked on top. Dreams are free - just not this one...

Why fucking bother, we all knew what the deal entailed. It was frankly shocking that Bale and his agent would compromise even a little but it seems they did, why fuck around further than that. Absolutely ridiculous waste of time if he pulls out now.

Personally wasn't sure in the logic of Bale at this stage (age/injuries/consistency) - a year or two ago I would have had no doubt.

But after that stinking pile of absolute poo that was served up yesterday, I think we need him. To just inspire the place at the very least (obviously he still has moments of world class quality in him too).

Could it be, and I really hesitate to offer him an excuse, that we aren't striding forward because JM is unsure of wanting/needing him in the squad? Probably more likely that DL just doesn't want to move funds out of a savings account...

Anyway, thanks for the info the Bale situation (y)

Thanks for the update Trix...
Daniel struggling to pull the trigger shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Perhaps he just needs some encouragement!
Let’s all email Levy... He reads them all apparently.:sneaky:

Very small % of fans on the forums. If this was a PR exercise the tabloids would have been on this by now.

Forgetting Bale because that's a different kettle of fish....
If Jose doesn't get what he wants this window I'm done with Levy. I don't post spin(my info doesn't come from a place spin would exist) but I do omit some stuff as I feel at times it's counter productive.

Jose unlike Poch has given a decent list of players he wants and needs. None of them should be out of our range money wise, so there can imo be no excuses for not getting him at least his minimum requirements.

If he doesn't get at least that it's open season as far as I'm concerned.

So that’s what the team were doing yesterday... providing encouragement to sign Bale
