Levy seems to have become recently enamoured with the use of loans, rather than outright purchasing, which tends to make this more plausible.

Levy once uttered the words that THFC has the funds to acquire the right player on the appropriate salary, if all the circumstances line up.
Basically dangling every name which gets linked to the club for us to squeal at.

Until I see ITK that we’ve submitted planning permission for an 18-hole golf course at the training ground I refuse to believe it.

As someone wise posted in here earlier: If all parties are keen to make the deal happen, it's not as far stretched as it seems.

Yeah Bale's injury history is a concern - but if you have the chance to sign a player of his caliber, you just have to roll the dice and take a gamble. Very few players have the ability to single handedly decide the outcome of matches, even fewer player have the ability to do it in the big matches (...CL, WC etc). Furthermore I believe Mourinho is the the kind of manager who will know how to utilize Bale.

Anyway, we've gone from Benteke and Piatek ITK to Bale ITK. Let's just enjoy that tingling feeling in our scrotums while it lasts and whatever happens.

Certainly sounds like there is something in it, will be interesting to see how this unravels. If we want him and he wants us you would like to think there is a deal that can be done. Him or Madrid (or both) will need to bend considerably on wages though!

Whether it happens or not, this is the sort of itk that makes transfer windows tick.
If you don't take anything too seriously, it's good clean fun.

This.

The majority of us obviously don't expect Bale to come home but man, it's fun to think it might. The key to enjoying a transfer window is not to get your hopes up too much. Enjoy each rumour for what it is....a rumour. Some turn into reality, most don't.

In terms of Bale specifically. Make no mistake, bringing him back would be an absolute sensation. Sky Sports would spend an entire week on that story. It would give our fans, players, entire club a huge boost. He is still absolutely elite and would be the spark to ignite our season.

Won't happen though ;)

Even as a delusional demanding fan I can see that this deal will be extremely difficult to do. So with that in mind I hope we have a few backup plans if we are unable to pull this off because we will still desperately need a forward.

Don’t destroy me but I’m a contrarian on Bale’s return.

I loved him at Spurs and he gave me some of my greatest moments watching Spurs (and I saw my first game in August 1961) but I’d rather have the memories than be disappointed watching Bale as he now is.

And I’d rather the club built for the future than looked to the past.

You need players like Bale around for our future stars to learn from and we also need a balance of youth and experience.
This would be perfect to add to our recent additions which are all for the future.

“Is coming. Take it to the bank.”

You sure he isn't talking about his personal reaction to the news??

Japes aside, Bale would be a wonderful loan returnee to put some positivity and excitement back into the season. And lol at the "past it" comments. Deary me. He is only 31! Guess that means at 45 I'm one step away from the knackers yard.

1000x this!

I support Spurs regardless of some PR machine so dont see this as relevant. Also find it hilarious that some folk think the ITK snippets are part of some propaganda bullshit!

As with every window we hope!

Just got home from work and saw the news, how sweet would it be to bring our Welsh Prince home and make him feel loved again.
