Our local librarian died last week after 52 years in the job. It's her funeral today. We're having a minutes noise for her at 11 o'clock

From the moment I picked your book up until I put it down I was convulsed with laughter. Some day I even intend reading it. Groucho Marx

Here you are:

JJ:
"Yes i can.
I expect the players you mentioned plus JJ to go on loan to champ clubs and not sure where Tom is going but he simply cannot run, he is so out of shape(a joke in training) i cant believe he was on the bench let alone brought on and look what happened. Piss poor effort all round and the coaches are responsible !!He needs to play, he didnt play all last week then he gets put in the squad and brought on! you couldn't make this sh*t up."

& with regards to who the coaches are:

"computer geeks and Freund etc !! sorry statisticians...."

I'm really not going to get hung up about comments such as these, and especially in regards to a new regime. We need at least one more transfer window and maybe til next summer's to get the squad unified and what AVB wants totally.

There is bound to be gripes and discontent (from all sides imo).

Really all depends what side of the fence JJ or his contacts sit on.

Well, don't know about 'better', but there's this, from Hoofhearted on COYS, posted in the Graham Roberts thread in Spurs Chat by Arnoldlayne:

I was just going to post a thread about AVB and players at the club, then saw this thread.

So; was speaking to someone yesterday (no names but I guess you all know who I mean) and have been told that Daws is mightily pissed off, was told by AVB he would play major part in this years team although rotation was being introduced, he would be club captain, then told club had accepted a bid from QPR, no reason given, he id going to Sunderland in January, would have gone in the last transfer window but O'Neill didn't have the cash !!!!

Huddlestone, Jenas and Defoe have been treated similarly, and before you say Defoe has signed a new contract, that is Levy, can ask more for him if he sells due to length of contract remaining.

VdV would have stayed had it not been made obvious to him that Gylfi was going to be first choice for the one position, not even a "Gylfi and you will be fighting for the same position."

Players out on loan won't be coming back, Bentley is so happy, not bothered about looking for another club, happy just to take the money.

Depressing reading whichever way you take it.

No it's depressing reading of you're the sort of plum to put any credence in it. I've just replied to this in the Roberts thread:

This is the kind of bollocks we are going to have to swallow for a bit is it ?

Even if true would any of us with a brain have Dawson, Hudd, Jenas & Defoe as first team players ? The majority of us would do exactly the same. Cash in on them and upgrade.

The fact that AVB picked VDV ahead of Sigurdsson for the last time both were fully fit and available confirms this as bollocks. Not to mention that VDV clearly wanted this move to be with his family. We all saw the tweets from his wife.

Honestly, I could have told you Daswson & Hudd aren't happy their careers are going down the toilet. Who fucking would be, but they were going that way before AVB got here. He's just the manager that has the job of breaking it to them.

Not sure if this is on topic, but I watched a chunk of the Portugal game yesterday. Coentrao was very good (Ronaldo and Nani not so) but the best player on the pitch by a mile was Moutinho. Superb vision with a great passing range and accuracy. He ran the game for Portugal and hardly put a foot wrong. If we can somehow get him in the next window we'd soon be asking 'Modric who'?

It's very unlikely we will get moutinho now I reckon that ship has sailed but we all knew it was too good to be true lets.

I know some people on here get upset if anyone says anything against our chairman but he is not quite in the same class as city or Chelsea who go all out to support their manager
It's not right to compare levy with abramovic/mansour
Levy does not have a bottomless pit of money to play with.
This quote from "the secret footballer" sums up man city

I was talking to one of the senior figures a few years ago and mentioned that I was available for a very reasonable outlay. He laughed – out of pity, I think. After a couple of glasses of champagne, I asked what I thought was a cheeky question: “You’re not really going to buy Kaká for £100m and give him £500k a week, are you? You’ll bankrupt the club.” He met it with a completely straight bat. “Let me put it to you in this way, my friend. Our fund is making about $100m a day from oil alone.”

That...my friend,is what levy is trying to compete with.

Going really OT here, but some of you remember JJetset name-dropping Arne Hegerfors during the summer!? I actually met Arne on the street in Stockholm yesterday, he looked really old but really friendly... :)

I meant, if it's made-up bollocks, it's depressing that a Spurs fan should spread it; if it isn't, it's depressing that players who have served Spurs well are being treated like chattels. I didn't spell that out because I assumed it would be obvious. It probably was, to most.

'Even if true'? Well, in Dawson's case we know it is, don't we?

What makes me doubt it is that Defoe's been teacher's pet, and that AVB has been eulogising Defoe, describing a player I don't really recognise.

From james163 on COYS re Moutinho

Guys, I'm in no way ITK, but I do get a couple of bits of news now and again.. Wont post who i got this info from here but happy if the mods want to PM for the source. This literally couldn’t come from any higher up at Porto and I was there during this conversation.

Basically the first time we showed any official interest in him was at 08.30 on the last day of the window, we tentatively agreed a deal with Porto but couldn’t agree terms with the player, then after a bit of back and forth we agreed terms with the player but when it came to the actually nitty gritty of the deal with Porto, again we couldn’t agree final terms. Finally later that day we agreed both and then at 23.30, Levy changed the goal posts, It was to do with a payement of about 12 mill, which rather than pay up front, he decided to change the payment structure to spread it over either 2 or 4 years (can’t remember which one) and deal fell through. Chap from Porto thinks highly likely we will be back in Jan for him.

As I said not ITK, but was there during the chat and literally could come any higher from Porto.

Wouldnt suprise me if that was the case.. but to be fair, the Porto guy would say that just as we would say differently.

Likely we will never know the full truth

From james163 on COYS re Moutinho

Posted in good faith ofc, but this sounds like Portos official version of what happened. Im sure they wouldnt like to be revealed as complete dicks. As someone already posted, we will most likely never know exactly what happened.

I have heard from a few people that we made our interest known in Mountinho well before the last day of the transfer window.

I'm taking lots of salt with James 163's info, just doesn't seem right to me.
