He looks shorter than all of those guys. Football Manager has him at 168cm which is more like 5 ft 6, seems about right imo.
I think that Wikipedia is being generous, doubt he’s 5ft6 though, maybe 5ft8. He’s stocky so looks shorter. In photos he’s shorter than teammates Lewis and Cantwell who are both 5ft10 as well apparently...

Roberto Carlos was 5’6”.

Looking like a solid window. More optimistic about the coming season with someone like PEH at DM.

It's not just the fitness part though, it's the increasing number of ball rolls/step-overs and not releasing the ball fast enough especially under little pressure (he was really trying my patience in the games after lockdown any pros he'd accumulated for "keep him as a squad player" just went straight to "nope he needs to be moved on"

All in all that Bale money was largely wasted in the end.

Thats unfair as at the time the majority of players were at the top of their game, it was unforseen RS did not get more goals, the Brazilian fella just turned shit and Lamela was supposed to be on the cusp of greatness.
As that has not happened and ITK saying he may go could live that if replacements materialise!

We can agree to disagree, this won't be the thread to get into it though (y)

For what it’s worth, Jose appears to be pragmatic or is letting levy do the transfers and dealing with it.

Im cautiously taking the ITK as optimistic. I say cautious because of, well, history.

Dragon 1 on Coys says

there is not much happening that is not in the press

Holberg should be tomorrow, serge we are talking to Milan but still a way to go ,with Aarons coming in from from Norwich a strong possibility

We want 2 rb , lb , mid and a striker

Tanguy will only go if we get the 42 million back , the Korean defender is 50/50 happening

I can tell you now covid has has cost the club a lot there will not be mega signings on mega wages , we are looking at 5 different strikers as possible back up to Kane

At last. Sounds like the club are finally trying to address the positions we’ve all been banging on about that need sorting out for 2/3 summer transfer windows. I suspect it will be hard to all do, but at least the will is there to solve those weaknesses.

Dragon 1 again on COYS

We have tried many times for bale his agent is very difficult , he is on 550-600k a week with a year left and madrid want a large chunk of his salary taken care of next season

Kane and Tanguy on 200 a week are our biggest earners by a long way ,in the current Climate no way we are paying 300 a week plus

someone has to take bale this summer though so will see what happens

also

I don’t see zlatan happening at all , I know a couple of strikers we are looking at , I can tell you now the striker deals we are looking at are £10-20 million with wages in the 50-100k a week bracket

Didn't actually know there was any talk of Zlatan. Have to admit a player with an attitude like that (pure winner) would be a real coup like Davids was back in the day.
Damn shame re Bale that would be some signing but given those wages who can touch him apart from maybe PSG. I'm guessing Madrid are sick they got greedy and looked for a fee last minute from that Chinese club who were going to pay bales full wages.

Why does someone have to take Bale this summer? ~30m for training and playing golf in sunny Spain for another’s year, YES PLEASE

So if Ben Davies got injured would he play Cirkin? I find it unlikely, we'd probably have Tanganga at left back which is deeply suboptimal.
I can see that. Tanganga was thrown in out of nowhere. Jose observed Cirkin for sometime now and we have reports he likes him. I think he even said that himself in some interview.

Glad we are intensively looking at strikers. IMHO that is the second most important position to strength after DM which looks like sorted already. We can't run Kane to the ground again.

Crazy thought, perhaps after this lockdown and freeze in football, maybe just maybe he wants to actually play football? I know the thought of someone wanting to play a sport they're being paid for is nuts. Perhaps his mental health has suffered? Also Euros next Summer so he probably wants to be match ready for that. Playing golf for a year isn't going to do much good is it?

the Chinese FA issued a wage cap on foreign players that yearly wages after tax cannot exceed 3m euros so can't see this happening

Madrid must be desperate to get at least a portion of his wages off their plate, as apparently they have rather severe financial problems looming. Even if we only had to pay £200k of his wages and they subsidised the rest they’d save £10m a year. No-one will pay a fee for him and pay him anywhere near what he earns in Madrid. And I don’t think they can actually play him anymore either now, especially with Zidane there.

Sadly, I think that money is more important to him than football. He has already earned more than he (and his kids) will ever be able to spend, so he could comfortably go to a club that would pay him only £250000 a week if playing football was what mattered.

He's got more chance of playing in the US Masters and The Open alongside Justin Rose than he has of playing for us with all the golf training he's been doing, the wages he's on have always been a problem for us, surely anyone and his dog can see that. Unless RM massively subsidise his wages for us which they won't it's never happening, but with predictable regularity it's rolled out every transfer window as a possibility, when for the reasons aforementioned it never really has been.

Where did I say about him joining us specifically? I was merely stating that perhaps he might want to play football again? What's so crazy about that? I don't see why there is such an uproar about that sort of thinking? Maybe he is actually fed up of being an outsider out there. With him ageing and Euros next summer it's not that much of a stretch to think he'll want to be match fit and raring to go for Wales is it?

Bring on the neg reps and optimistic ratings though!

Fuck em, They go around chucking stupid money at players inflating costs for everybody.

Clubs should keep them eating his wages until the end of his contract.
