No. He's got a massive issue with Levy and it's all rubbish. He recently had a big melt-down on FTL and "quit" because of the mocking he was getting. It looks liken he's gone back to COYS.
Cheers Rob, his anti levy " leanings" certainly come through strong and that info puts a completely different slant on his info/opinion.

The info does seem too good to be true...

I think Levy is probably still stung by what happened with the Bale money. He probably thinks he could have done better with it (but that's a trait of being a confident and successful businessman). Most of his dalliances with DoFs have been very hit and miss and he probably thinks he's done a great job himself even though the evidence often contradicts that. At the end of the day though, he'll always be the one writing the cheque and that can always be a sticking point in any deal.

Most likely. I still maintain that the best thing would be to have one, but obviously you need one you can trust with the money. That's why it's important that the DoF is another business-minded person, but with understanding of the footballing world. You don't need an expert scout, there's another team for that. But you need someone who can make decisions with only the footballing aspect in mind, from a set budget.

Curious why everyone rates this Campos fella so highly? Genuine question. Has this guy got a proven track record of unearthing serious talent? If so, who? Or is it just everyone jumping on a hype train someone has created?

From what I hear, and we all hear slightly different. Joe Lewis is more hands on. Jose wants Campos in. Daniel Levy doesn’t. The consensus within is they fear fans are running restless because of lack of active ‘interest’ (spend) on the team overall. How we got to having players running down their contracts. Contrary to what is being said; Joe Lewis pushed for Jose, as he did before he went to chavs first time, and When he was sacked then.

They are not happy with the way we struggle on transfers, and this is on Daniel Levy. It is felt DoF needed, who has a budget. And with that he does transfers; handing over to the club to pay

We need a good DoF badly. We can't compete with the money clubs financially.

Thanks for the info Hercules. DOF is needed and Campos coming in just makes too much sense for it to happen.

Getting a DOF in and taking the transfers completely out of Levy’s hands would be a good move. He can still run the club and set the budgets, but let someone else do the actual wheeling and dealing.

Key to that is a DoF and Manager who are on the same wavelength, that’s where we’ve fallen down in the past I think. If Mourinho and Campos have worked before, that bodes well, especially given two of Jose’s new staff have also worked with Campos prior to joining Jose.

For me the dream scenarios is we get Campos in, Jose has some short-term success and builds a foundation for long-term success with Sacremento groomed to take over when Jose retires. Solid foundations and continutity over the next decade is what we need.

Covid-19

I know there is a thread for that in essence. The strong talk is, they cannot see any league fulfilling their obligation of matches. And the contract of players, which covers holidays, training etc, insurance companies stipulations. And many more factors. It is looking like season cancelled. I heard this through more than three club directors connections.

every single club will take a financial hit, which will have its own consequences. I fear that is very likely. And I would have sincere full sympathy for Liverpool, Leeds, WBA. And the leagues further down.

Agents are not in favour of their players playing 3 games in ten days, with injuries very likely. Remembering that training shouldn’t really be taking place. I do not know if that has been enforced as of yet.

The above is educated opinion concluded from what I heard. So don’t go f’ng shooting me.

PLEASE STOP TAKING MY POSTS AND QUOTING THEM ELSEWHERE IN THIS FORUM!!!

Many thanks

Covid-19 will cause everyone to have a financial hit, however, as long as no one goes bust because of it then I don't care. People and their health should always come first. Hopefully if people/organisations face financial difficulty, the government can provide support.

It is unrealistic for the league to resume even till May. China/Korea/Japan have more or less passed the peak of the coronavirus (But they still have new infected cases everyday). Their leagues are still suspended. No signs that they are going to restart the league very soon. Of course, the problem is slightly better for them because they are not at the mid of season.

Joao Sacramento is incredible and I want him to be our next manager, absolutely no idea why

This definitely makes sense and doesn't surprise me imo because in spite of what he's done to improve Spurs' asset value that doesn't change the fact that struggling on the pitch will hit the club financially. COVID-19 aside it would have already done so massively because of the managerial sackings required and subsequent likely finish outside of Europe. If Campos or another DOF comes in then they'll most likely be able to generate funds on the playing assets side by purchasing young prospects and selling them on. You'd also think we'd be more successful on the pitch generating increased reputation, prize money and therefore revenue.

He built the Monaco team that sent us out of the CL and won Ligue 1. Bernardo Silva, Mbappe, Martial etc were signed under him. He also found Nicolas Pepe that Lille then sold to Arse for big money.

Am I the only one that can see a situation where the DOF agrees a deal with a club, only to hand it over to Levy to finish who then tries to renegotiate things?

No because that's not what happened with Baldini
