Yeah I agree this possibility certainly has to be taken into account, especially when you consider the fact both of our senior strikers are now straddling 30. It's also important to note that Ade will be leaving for the ACON this year, and considering the undoubted push by the board to put in a strong push in the Europa as well, it would make sense Poch would want to have at least two senior strikers on board for that stretch.

It's true that Kane has more than impressed in recent time, but it's still to be seen whether he can produce in the Prem under Poch's system, as Kane's goals came from Sherwood's traditional setup and merely getting on the end of Eriksen's crosses while Poch's setup is much more focused on vertical passing on the ground.
He might not, Togo have to qualify from their group (last game mid-late Nov). Other than Ade potentially going to ACN, do we have anyone else that could be going other than Bentaleb & BAE (if he is still a Spurs player)?

Kane is perfectly capable on the ground - look at the Hull game in league cup (capital one cup) as a deecent example. Great goal and hit the cross bar in 15 minutes of normal time without a cross in sight.

To get the nest out of any striker, the sysyte has to work for them (see the woieful set up for Soldado in the first half of last season to undrstand that) but if that's in place Kane will score a few

No worries mate, I'm not writing him off, simply pointing out that as of this moment I wouldn't be surprised if Poch made plans for another senior solution over him. I have high hopes for Kane under Poch, especially since it's believed he tried to get Kane in the winter window.

Not sure we can keep 4 strikers happy (or even 3 senior strikers plus Kane) - so if another senior striker comes in one of Adebayor or Soldado needs to go to fund the incoming transfer and his wages.

2 senior strikers plus Kane is doable - 3 senior strikers I'd suggest is not

Oh for sure. My point is not to suggest Rodriguez would be coming in to play specifically striker, but also striker, especially considering our situation at the position and the fact Rodriguez may not even be acquired until Ade's (possibly) set to leave for the ACoN.

That's the decision Poch will need to make, either fully trust Kane to be 3rd choice and then 2nd choice while/if Ade at ACON or not and loan him for season and buy someone. Rodriguez would've made sense though in terms of timing as when he's fit would've coincided with this and he's capable of filling in at ST.

might be opinion based on what hes heard

Would be great to get this wrapped up soon to give him some time to train with the team. Also allows us to shift our focus to offloading players and picking up those final pieces.

More complex decisioon than that imo. If Adebayor is top striker/goalscorer , whilst Adebayor is away does Poch trust Soldado to be main striker with Kane on the bench

If Poch regards Soldado as main striker/goalscorer with Adenayor/Kane on the bench is he happy when/if Adebator is at ACN to be the back up on the bench.

I'd suggest yes - ACN is 4-6 games missed - if Adebayor goes !

If we get a winger/striker - great, but its not a 'must have' like a CB

Don't forget his usual bout of malaria and his missing of several flights whilst trying to get back! (y) Best just call it 3 months to be on the safe side.

I am personally interested in seeing what kind of changes will be made to the squad (young players brought up to play a bigger part, players sold, additional players brought in) given that one of the earlier bits of ITK this summer spoke about streamlining the squad a bit since it is bloated and does have a lot of monotony in the types of players we currently have on the roster.

If that's going to reign true, then you have to believe there's still plenty of work to be done. It's completely realistic that we have multiple offers on the table for quite a few players (including loans) and Levy is simply waiting to see what happens with some of our own transfer targets. The problem then becomes if we wait too long to make moves for our targets, other clubs will likely move on from the players we need to sell which then leaves us with players we don't want that we can't really sell and in turn can't fund moves for players we covet.

We'd actually need to lose 11 players over 21yo to accommodate 3 incomings.

Loaning Fredericks, Veljkovic, Carroll and Ceballos makes 4; selling Kaboul,BAE, Khumalo and Obika makes another 4; but there'd still need to be 3 more. A lot of work in 3.5 weeks.

Veljkovic is under 21.

That makes it sound more complicated than it probably would be. Finding a loan on deadline day is always possible due to the frantic nature of the window. Suddenly a club gets a bid they didn't expect but have to accept and want a replacement. Plus, we don't *have* to get rid of any of them. As you go on to say, they just don't play in PL.

There's a good argument that we should keep e.g. Ceballos and Fredericks, to train with the first team and play in the Europa League and COC Cup.

Really, we just need to get rid of Benny so we can bring in MM (or alternative) and one other for Schniederlin or alternative. If we sell Kaboul then we'd either need to believe Fryers and Dawson are solid options or buy another one in addition to MM. That's when things start to get trickier and we run the risk of entering Nelsen-ville part two.
