If Eriksen goes I'm not too bothered. He was a great player for us 2 years ago but recently has been average. No great free kicks. Can't deliver a corner past the first defender. No pace. Some great shots and a high work rate but the thing that impresses me about Lo Celso and Ndombele is that the go past people, have pace, great control and can create chances for the front line. Only regret is that we couldn't squeeze £130,000 out of Real for CE.

never order furniture that arrives and just must be assembled when theres 2 hours left of the transfer window (and takes 5 hours)
this is itk

Wonder if this was a right back which would seem to fit the earlier itk, or if we tried for someone after the Dybala move collapsed? Could also be Rose, I suppose?

How can anyone say our defence is a lot weaker, we only lost Tripps and everyone moaned when he was in the starting 11 last year. We haven’t replaced him but all the players that should have started before him last year are still here so we might not be stronger, but weaker, nah.

We haven’t upgraded on Trippier though imo. Aurier isn’t good enough ( and seems very injury prone also) and whilst I think KWP has potential I’m not sold on his defensive abilities. Nor am I convinced about Foyth there.

We also don’t know what’s happening with Rose yet, so for me the fullback area is a concern.

Although Trippier was poor last season, I’m not one of those who thinks every dropped point last year was his fault and selling him is suddenly going to make our defence rock solid.

Obviously there's still the rest of August to go in the overall window, but if Pochettino can't do something great with this squad, as it is at this very moment, I'll be astounded. Excepting Man City (but not by much), I don't see a better squad in the league.

I love your positivity but we are weak in both FB positions and they are key positions. I think we have the third best squad overall and would imagine that’s where we will finish the season.

As the squad incrementally improves I wonder where Dier and Davies fit in beyond next year.

Only Spurs can go out and sign all their transfer targets, all of which can be considered some of the best talent in Europe, and still leave the window with sense of being underwhelmed! We do find unique ways to disappoint ourselves!

I for one, cannot wait for the season to start now!

This full back talk...
No, we haven't strengthened. We're evolving.
We're shuffling the pack.
By, presumably, involving KWP more in the squad we're freshening things up. I like Trippier, but he didn't have a great season and he won't be a big loss.
Same with Eriksen, I love him, but if we'd have swapped him for Dybala I wouldn't have cried into my cornflakes.

Perfectly reasonable inference. Completely disagree at LB, I think Rose and Davies are more than good enough.

At right back I accept I have nothing tangible to say other than Aurier could well pull a Sissoko, and Walker-Peters with regular starts might just fulfil what is undoubtedly a lot of potential.

What’s the point in the youth system if we never fill a hole with an academy product after all? Likewise I’m more than happy to see Parrott and Skipp take minutes that would’ve gone to Llorente and Wanyama, while Tanganga has come from nowhere to look like a viable option but sadly probably has the best depth in front of him.

What happens with Eriksen now. Does Levy get him to sign a contract with an agreement he can move to Madrid next summer, like Modric? If he’s as professional as Modric that will be very good all round

yep. But they didn't paid all as they swaped danialo. we could have offer them Aurier and say 30mil on top.
Would they want SA? most our fanbase don't want aurier, Someone said earlier we have no recognised RB which I thought was harsh Lol

Bit cheap at 130k.

It has been an especially busy day at work for me and so I've missed everything as it was happening today, just seeing the end results well after our window had shut, but here's the scat-hot take that you've all been waiting for:

- We won't be able to fully judge this summer until we see whether Eriksen is still here in mid-September.
- If Eriksen is still here and has signed a new contract, it has been an unbelievably brilliant window.
- If Eriksen is still here and hasn't signed a new contract, it has been a great window.
- If Eriksen isn't still here, it has been a promising but ultimately not good enough window.
