So if GKN and Janssen leave, assuming for a small fee and 100% wage coverage, we could have freed up around £125-150k per week of wages, plus the £11m for Dembele.

Right now I'd happily see us use that to give Toby a solid 3.5 year deal. He's really stepped up this year and proven his fitness.

We weren’t exactly ‘happy’ when Redknapp bought Saha and Nelsen in January when we were going for the top 4. It’s now 2019, we’re going for the top 2 and not only have we bought nobody, we’ve actually sold 2, maybe 3 players (including, on his day, one of the finest midfielders in the prem).

I mean... it ain’t great is it. I know the stadium cost has set us back and I still have faith, but fuck me we make it difficult for ourselves.

I’ll pray for a late signing today but if not, I still have faith for a top 4 finish as we continue, somehow, to punch above our weight. ?

So if Eriksen and Toby sign new deals. how we will buy new players in summer?

Plus our competition is s**t this season to challenge for our place. I am worried for long term.

And that right there is the problem. How many are going to sign knowing that it's very unlikely they will play every week? Only those blatantly after the money. Batshuayi wants to play, I doubt he'd join knowing once Kane is back he'll be dropped to the bench whether he's scoring for fun or not.
We need a player that will thinks they can beat Kane to the starting spot, not someone who is happy playing second fiddle. Even though the Batshuayi like is bullshit, he'd back himself to beat Kane

Yeah, seems like he was popular in the dressing room here. Hope he does well, just wasn’t quite good enough for us.

He was also popular in the hotel room, whilst he waited to sign.

Why the fek is Levy turning down loans on VJ?
Nobody wants to risk buying him on our terms. We don’t want 15m for him btw. Much less than that. Let him out on loan with a ‘view’, but not ‘obligation to buy’. His recent injury record is not encouraging. FFS

Not signing someone last summer was ridiculous, but to do the same this window is straight negligent. I think Poch is getting the best out of the ones we have. We won't progress without signings.

If we don't sell those two we won't need many. Clubs are actually allowed to net spend.

TBF Eriksen seems to be more about opportunity than money anyway.

Not signing anyone in the summer is worse than not signing anyone now imo

The only person besides VJ that this hurts is Levy and his bean counting. He hasn't featured for us and isn't going to play for us so ... If Gru wants to be the smartest bean counter in the room, let him.
