Jay Rodriquez would be handy but I really think we should be waiting until his fit to play again until we attempt sign. ACLs are a right bugger (I've done mine) and not everyone comes back the same.

Totally this. Look how crooked Kaboul still is 18 months after doing his. Giuseppe Rossi only got back to being 80% of the player after his etc.

Yer good story, blame the phone ;) not the 10 beers ;) haha!

But tbh our scouting network are working hard all year! They do alot that most people wont ever notice.
Same with coaches of all age groups.

I think Vlad could end up our best defender. Once we get a settled side that's able to control matches and once he settles down a bit and gets a run of games. I thought he settled quite quickly last season. He was a bit steady at first but as his confidence grew he tried more things and got caught out a bit. But he was testing his boundaries. In Romaina he really could intercept the ball and move up the pitch and probably get a shot in. Easy street. You can't do that here.

If you want a team to play out from the back you have to give players like that time and forgive it when they take a risk and get caught out. Taking risks these days and pushing the issue is what wins you games.

What i see with Vlad is a defender that has the technique and the intelligence to play midfield. He sees things a bit quicker and makes it look effortless by being a yard quicker in his head. He just needs to work out when to take a chance and when not to and that'll come with games, he's a intelligent footballer so he'll refine with time.

To me he's more of a natural than even Jan is.

Sherwood dropping him after that wayward pass at Liverpool was awful management. The player would've know what he did wrong and be motivated to put it right next game. Should've had the chance otherwise our players will always have brittle confidence.

I thought I would clear a few things up as some of you seem to think we are just fixed on one player.

Before Poch went away, he Baldini and the chairman, met and discussed this summers possible ins and outs, Poch made them aware that LB,LWF, CB and CF are his main areas of concern.

They are the areas we are looking for players. They will be looking to trim the squad in an effort to give some of our promising youngsters more first team exposure.

We have Cash but unless we get a deal that is "out of this world" do not expect a significant net spend.

Loveren, Rodriguez, Remy are all on our radar. The club feel that we need to add a mixture of home grown and premiership exp players to the squad, partly as many of the players that are dispensable are even home grown or have significant premiership experience, unlike last summer Poch and Baldini will not look to solve all our requirements at once and it will be a gradual process.

We will also be looking to free spaces before bringing too many new players so it could well be a case of 1/2 out 1 in at a time. Poch really is concerned that certain players (usual suspects) do not fit his style or the attitude required.

I think we will probably only end up with a LB Davies deal is not far from being concluded, CH looking at 3/4 not all from Prem and a LWF. A lot of these deals are dependant on prices, players leaving etc and balance and make up of the squad.

Baldini is also looking to bring in a few younger players.

As for a striker unlikely to be any major movement unless we sell. Ade is on ridiculous wages so very hard to move him on, after initial interest from Spanish clubs it has gone quiet on Soldado.

Don't panic loads going on and things can change very quickly, especially as clubs start pre season.

Personally don't get the need for another "LWF" given we already have Chadli, would much rather we get in a different option to keep opposing managers on their toes. Granted, "LWF" could mean anything, but from the targets we seem to have been linked with it does seem as though Poch wants to continue his 2nd striker setup.

Nice to hear Poch has identified needs in all the areas that we here think we need.

Also the certain players(usual suspects) bit absolutely screams Ade. Hope we move him on.

So we have cash but we wont spend it unless its in an out of this world deal? Meaning we wont use it unless its for a great player? So how about we say 30m for Di Maria and call it a day?;)

Could apply to much of the first team honestly. All of Capoue, Paulinho, Dembele, Siggy, Townsend, Lennon, Vertonghen etc have all been accused at some point or another of not putting in enough effort.

Apart from the creativity issue in CM!

Confucius say: No matter how good your attackers are, if they don't get the ball distributed to them early they will suffer.

Hmmmm:pompous:

My guess is this is included in the dependent on outgoings. I have no doubt given our plethora of central midfielders that he'd like to work with the squad first before taking on any business there with limited funds, but has highlighted those four other positions as pressing areas of need that require immediate attention. I would agree with him in that regard.

2. Lamela, Eriksen + whoever is playing behind them will be distributing to them with haste.

The fact that Poch is looking for a LW suggest that he's going to play our most creative player - Eriksen - in central midfield.

We also have Holtby whose agent said today that he's staying.

Everyone who thinks Shawcross is good enough for Stoke let alone Spurs deserves an electronic punch directly in the face.

Also don't forget Nabil Bentaleb and Tom Carroll who look tailor made for Pochettino.
