The difference this time round is the players seem more focussed on coming here as a priority move rather than waiting for other teams first.
How can you blame the agents? They are being paid to get the best possible deals for their clients. It's literally the purpose of employing one. The players can sack their agents at any time, and clubs can refuse to pay their demands, but they don't. Of course with every profession their are a few that don't play by the rules but the majority have the best interests of their clients at the forefront. This really isn't for discussion in this thread though, so I'll add that I've heard this morning we are trying to push the NDom deal. Here's hoping.

Thanks for the info Trix. Here's hoping indeed.

Thanks for the insight Trix, that last little bit about N'Dombele was just to tease us though you sneaky little minx you. :sneaky::LOL: Here's to hoping Levy pulls that one off, I believe he can.

ghostofarmo, nothing new here though:
Bit of itk
We are definitely after both ndombele and celso..I don’t know yet if it’s both or one or the other but I’m told 50/50 chance of signing..
So it’s not just paper talk.Just passing on I wish I knew more.
Ndombele more advanced talks and 50-50..

edit: the last line came a bit later, maybe he got an update/clarification

50/50...would like to think the chances are better than that...especially from what we’ve heard from ‘our’ ITK’s.

You'd have to say the market is setting up pretty well for us, combined with our Champions League success. Knock on wood, but most of the bigger/equivalent clubs aren't really set up to compete with us all summer.

  1. City and Liverpool have basically said they aren't going to buy big. Looks like City might bring in Rodri and that's it.
  2. Chelsea is transfer banned.
  3. Arsenal don't have CL and look like they aren't willing to spend significant sums.
  4. United are in for everyone but no CL and it's not exactly a secret they are a total mess. Seems like they are struggling in the market tbh.
  5. Madrid are likely to only bring in one more player considering all the business they've done already.
  6. Barcelona, after De Jong, seem pretty focused on De Ligt and Greizmann. Can't see them doing a huge amount besides that unless they are able to get rid of someone like Coutinho for big money.
  7. Bayern Munich generally does their own thing within Germany.
  8. PSG is a potential threat.
  9. Atletico and Juventus are both about our level in terms or lower in terms of money. Think players prefer the English league to Italy and we have a high stock considering what happened this season. Atletico has dwindled a bit probably.
  10. I don't really worry about the Milan clubs, even though they are always linked to everyone.
  11. Dortmund has done a ton of business already.
We should be able to get business done this summer, our biggest threat is ourselves.

Think they are looking at others too but yeah I do think there is a window of opportunity here for us and we may not be competing with a handful of clubs such as in previous years.

That right there is the game changer.
Could this last season (Stadium & CL Final) have been the breakthrough?

Lots of nice info there, glad to see we’re pushing hard on N’Dombele now, I hope that Lo Celso is not far behind though. Really hope it’s both as I think we need both (immaterial of Eriksen situ).

I hope you don't mind but I am going to read this as the player has expressed a wish to come to us, his agent is therefore working to make his wish come true and so we are pushing to do the deal with some level of confidence. I'll join you in your hope wholeheartedly.
