If this is Bale, been discussed in the player thread. How can we discuss a structure when they won't pay the amount we ask for? Especially, if they don't even have the cash. We're pricing them out, and so far it's working.

Ssn have their own version of events don't they? They will continue to speculate until sept 3rd even if Bale was to public state he is staying.

The Bale saga just sucks. Wish the club was more transparent about what is going on. Its awful for the supporters.

If we were more transparent, Madrid would love it and the Spanish press would lap it up. We want to make Madrid look like fools be keeping silent and only speaking when necessary. Levy knows what he's doing. After AVB's press conference last weekend the press started to back track.

It's Bale. Was in the Bale thread earlier today. (y)
Oh, that's ok then. Thought it may be something with a element of truth to it. Just more made up bale bollocks, thought they got bored talking about it already. I'm ignoring everything concerning bale for my metal health, especially the bale thread!

I overheard some blokes saying that "Spurs are going to sign Ker-pooey". Sounds like A&Cs going to have a new favourite player.

Burt's article last night said that Levy was unconvinced that Madrid could guarantee any kind of big fee or make assurances sufficient to believe they have the money.
If that's the case then it ain't gonna change any time soon.
Why would it?

I'm fairly sure he means capoue. Frustrating if true.

They are talking about Bale and are trying desterately to revive a story which is gasping for breath. Seems to me that Sky try to allign themselves with the 'bigger' club in just about every bit of transfer speculation on the assumption that they will end up on the winning side.

Not really (well, not for me anyway)

I'm sure the club are fully aware that they own a golden goose in GB.

Either RM will get properly fleeced, or GB stays at spurs. No inbetweenie with this.

The problem is that from a negotiating point of view, publicly telling us what is going on weakens our position irreparably with Real Madrid. It's kind of like your opponents seeing your cards in a game of poker when the hand is worth £100,000,000.

It is beyond doubt in my mind that the reason that at least one of our ITKs exists is to feed fans at least the vaguest idea of what is going on whilst the club still has plausable deniability and can dismiss it at internet gossip

We couldn't have paid for this kind of publicity!

At a time when TV is expanding exponentially on a global scale, brands are being built and a new stadium is in the offing, we couldn't have asked for more interest/coverage.

Take a bow, Levy sir.

(Disclaimer: assuming Bale stays!!)

I don't know what it is about this...but turning on the TV last night and having a few EPL shows pop up on the guide in the meat of my channel selection during a weeknight, instead of having to go another 200 channels north to find Fox Soccer or BeIn...just feels right. Feels respected! It may just be b/c I'm a fan, but it seemed like Spurs featured just as much, if not more, than the other "big" clubs. COYS.

Perfect time for this publicity, perfect time to swing for the fences.

There's always "inbetweenies" its the area where deals are made. Its business and unhappy £85m+ players don't stay at clubs, just to make a point.

Unless of course RM sell some players! And I'm sure they've got 1 or 2 they could quite easily. Especially this new group of highly wealthy clubs where the sky seems to be the limit. If they really want bale I'm sure they can raise the cash.

Levy's negotiation style is certainly well known in England but if Bale stays, with the attention this deal is receiving, his reputation will be massively enhanced worldwide too.

Depending on your viewpoint, there is no evidence to me Bale is unhappy.

Does he want to go to RM? Probably.....I mean who in their right mind would not?

Is he doing a Suarez, kicking up a fuss in the Press etc...? Nope.

Imho Bale has done extremely well through all this.....his agent on the other hand..

It will be great to see him run out for us tomorrow, your right! Oh hang on.......

It is a worry that he is apparently injured. However if he is faking it, is it really a clever move? I mean if he does go to Madrid this summer, which I highly doubt, then he will be expected to perform from the start, and he won't be match fit.

Personally, I think whoever doesn't play tomorrow probably won't start our first fixture. Praying Sandro and Kaboul get some game time, but doesn't seem likely :(

Not sure the club needs to be transparent. The club came out very early on and said, fuck off he's not for sale. Bale remains a Spurs player after RM's aggressive and sustained media war. So...
