Err yes if you read that ITK only. But Rebrab hinted at Digne as an option yesterday I believe.

Personally I think he was just speculating, as in he heard we may want him but let’s be honest, Everton will want a very lot of money for him, it isn’t happening.

We rarely buy the best players from other mid table PL clubs because they are so expensive.

Unless his contract has some form of release clause for champ league club at set fee.

That certainly seemed to be the case. However, we have already broken our club record signing and are, by all accounts looking to sign more. Dear Leader is backing Poch, who has said we need to do business differently to the way we have done and that we are the start of a new 5 year plan. So, maybe we will sign from mid table clubs!

I hope you're right, just as Mr Pink - but Son and Foyth are both suspended against Villa. And Aurier has done his hamstring or something, right? I'll cross my fingers for some major activity in the coming week or two..

First game of the season is kwp’s gets MOTM then not to be seen again till may, that’s how it usually goes

ali z with opinion and itk: Suspect Cellabos will stay at Madrid or go to Arsenal, we are not willing to deal with no future prospects, there will be incomings and outgoings trust Poch.

I also think people overestimate what 1 guy can do - will be a lot of heavy lifting for a certain core of players this season if the current paper talk is true. If Eriksen stays (which according to the papers would mean no Lo Celso in) he'll be going on overdrive this season, just like past seasons. Just saw that Wanyama is up for sale as well, with West Ham interested. One or two injuries to the core and we'll be back to the worst times this season, playing players such as Rose at DM and whatnot. We had a thin squad as it was. Selling starters and not replacing them is worrying IMO.
I really hope we have a first team ready full back option that hasn’t come out yet. Because we are weakening our first 11 if we sell Trippier and Rose and only have Sessegnon as the answer...
I really think we have to have faith and see where the dusts settles, come the end of window. Neither Poch, and definitely not Levy is going to want to go backwards considered what we have achieved in the last four years or so. I have a good feeling about everything

Could I say something to the bedwetters please. We got in circa 10-12m for Dembele, and never replaced him. We have now with TN. We have now sold Tripps for call it 23m. That is circa 35m total. And a initial circa 53m on TN, we are down 21m, and JC, with a loan back. Very little paid down. How the hell do some shit themselves that we have to sell?

I hinted enough about the RB, and Tripps likely exit next etc, and we would recruit from within Foyth. There are very close pending deals going on. And I won’t say no more than that. And I still expect the Sess/s, and GLC to happen, with couple others.

Are you saying we won’t buy a RB and use Foyth there, because you said we would buy a RB if Trippier was sold just a couple of weeks ago...

I dont get this. Why do people worry so much about the players who could be sold and also worry about not signing as well? What really matters is what actually happens. So far we've released Vorm which doesn't matter as he never plays, Llorente who we could still sign and Trippier when we had 3 right backs anyway. We've signed Ndombele who could be our Van Dijk signing. We're not going to sell players without getting players in so no need for people to worry so much.

Can anyone clarify the Rose situation. Poch was happy for him to stay and apparently he was offered a new contract but refused to sign. Levy does not want to get into the same situation as Eriksen & Alderweireld running down their contracts so he was made available. He could still stay if he chooses to sign the contract?

Interesting update. Torn on Ceballos, looks a fantastic talent and had a great under 21s but if we manage to get Lo Celso over the line I don’t see where he fits in when I would expect Sissoko and/or Winks to partner NDombele. I know we need depth but subject to signing Lo Celso we would have sufficient options in the middle. Especially when you add the signing of Sessegnon and the other incomings being alluded to... we’ll struggle to get all of our best players in both the starting line up and on the bench.

Sessegnon, the outright left winger who played in that position for the past 2 years cos he’s blatantly a winger... now possibly playing as a full back, in a spurs team that already leaked goals from the full back positions last year. Hmmmmm!

If its Sessegnon, IMO, its only him & Davies as LB options. I cannot see how we will sign another first team LB after Sessegnon. Only way we are signing another full back is if we sell Aurier and replace him with a versatile full back who can play both sides. But its unlikely

I said two things in separate posts, and more internally. We initially were looking at a couple of RB’s, but their prices were way beyond what we would pay, and what we would get. So decision was recruit from within, and if a good prospect is available, at a decent price, we would venture. And I suspect if Aurier gets a buyer, it will become more prevalent.

FFs people. Poch has seen what we’re capable of and what we’re not. We can keep the same players or we can improve on what we have. Most of you disliked Trips who was the first name in the Match Thread Assassination posts. We have 3 candidates in the team capable of playing there. We also might sell Serge who also gets a lot of stock and if we do I’m sure we’ll get a replacement but for now we’re not.

We’ve been after the Sess twins for at least a year and that’s likely. If Rose going is the price we pay then that’s what Poch wants to I’m all for it.

Worry if Poch decided that it’s time to sell Kane and trust in VJ. Otherwise chill and enjoy the ride.

If we go in to this season with Foyth as our first choice right back then I hope we are prepared to buy in January as he it’s an accident waiting to happen. I like him at centre back. He is not a right back.

Always felt both Trippier and Aurier would have to go this summer for us to bring in a RB. I can actually see teams coming in for Aurier but whether they'd offer the money we'd want is a different matter.
