DL has to use his skills very wisely in choosing the next HC/Manager. There is a lot more to consider here that just the obvious. DL needs to win back the dressing room, we do not need to buy in another 4 or 5 players. If we do then we will end up like the beginning of the season trying to bed them in, not knowing if the last lot we brought are going to make it next season. FDB will be fully aware of the players we have, and should be able to make a judgement call if given the chance.

Just realised this nut house is open.

Sparked open the eyeteekay.

Just the thing to cheer me up after the season we've had. Talking about kicking an SCer when he's down.

No, DL has an obligation to sort this mess out pronto. To get a manager and players in who inspire keeping some of the best talent in world football as and when we get them.

Don't sell Lloris, have we learnt nothing from us selling Bale and Liverpool keeping Suarez?! I despair.

Daniel, sort it the feck out. I was once a BSoDL, but I am veering hard towards being a dissenter. Sad sad year for the club.

I want my tottenham back.
It was kind of tongue in cheek as he's arguably been the best goalkeeper we've had for goodness how long but I can't possibly begrudge him wanting to further his career elsewhere.

The Bale-Suarez debate has been done to death so not applicable here unless we are prepared to potentially have another Modric scenario in keeping him here for another year and denying what is inevitable.

Same 'ere pal.

This summer has a lot to live up to compared to last years shenanigans;

Baldini meeting the Valencia rep's
Lamela's flight path tracked
*cough* Willian *cough

Regardless, I'm relishing this summer more than most and I'll be here along with SC's finest and the undesirables!

Bring it on!

I converted to Euros, there are a few numbers floating around too. The highest I have seen is transfermarkt at €54.2m. I saw €52.1 mentioned quite a few times on various sites.
I had no idea it was so much. I knew Buffon is the record but thought he was around 30M!

There's no need for wrist slitting based on those snippets. No one's going to make Bale-esque unrefusable offers for Vertonghen, Lloris or anyone else. Even if there is interest there's nothing to suggest we can't make anyone stay a la Modric. We'll probably still be in Europe, and you'd think any sensible player would wait to see who the new manager is before demanding to leave. It's no surprise morale is low, but in three or four days we'll get the biggest morale boost we've had in years. Albeit one everyone knows is coming.

I always seem to remember the fee being £30-32m (converted). Could be completely wrong but that would was obscene at the time and still seems it now for a keeper. If Courtois was actually on the market he would probably be the only one to eclipse that.

You never know with Levy though.

Not surprised at the Journo's info. If you were a player at Spurs at the moment, watching us lurch from disaster to disaster, you'd want out. We remind me of Villa under O'Neil when they had been pretty good, top 6 for a couple of seasons, and then it all went tits up and their best players wanted to abandon the sinking ship.

Yeah.
I'm concerned?

That there could be such a disconnect between Levy and Sherwood is nuts, but you read between the lines and it seems there is very much a boss/employee relationship. Sherwood resembles a downtrodden partner, with no power to bite back, who them takes out his frustrations on his underlings.

Media management at all levels is at an all time low too.

Regarding Levy, the whole manager thing repeating again makes me think of this:

One day, if you find that everyone you meet is irritating you and acting like arseholes, then maybe it's you that's the irritating arsehole.
If you meet a dickhead in the morning you just met a dickhead. If you keep meeting them all day then maybe you are the dickhead.

My take on the ITK today:

- Adebayor: I'm not bothered if he does go. I appreciate the great run of form he had which translated into a decent run for the club as well. But, at this stage he's simply not reliable enough for a Top 4 challenging side. I wish him nothing but the best should he leave.

- Lloris: I think we can all empathize with him after what he's had to endure this year. Gets kneed in the head by Lukaku, braves it, ends up getting AVB into shit and after all that he's had to try and be the only true defender in our side on multiple occasions. Without Lloris our season would have been truly horrendous. Once again, should he leave for greener pastures I would thank him for the time spent here and just hope we can find someone decent enough to fill his shoes. Forster, Begovic or Marshall would be my choice.

- Vertonghen: I think most of us have seen this coming. He was nothing like he was last year for us. Granted, that freedom to move forward with the ball has been hindered all season long, which is interesting given that the success he had last year came under AVB yet he really didn't do it much under him when he was here. He's been moved to LB too much for his liking I'm sure and the issue was we never addressed the LB position with capable depth. I can't excuse how he's apparently looked like he couldn't care less when on the pitch at times. Fantastic player and maybe if we bring FdB on he would stick around another year to rehab his name a bit.

I think we will mange to get £10m for Adebayor. This is Levy we are talking about, and Adebayor will have reenergised potential suitors by showing his form over 2-3 months. We all know his flaws only too well, but to other clubs he is a great all round striker who is capable of dominating when the coordinates align. Don't know how Monaco's FFP situation is, but we all know they are loaded.

As much as I like 'good' Adebayor, he requires a certain type of manager to get him firing and is about to become extortionate in terms of wages.

I still think Soldado will come good under the right manager/tactics, and it will be interesting to see who we would chase to compete with him. I've said this a few times, but it is a LONG TIME since we applied our general acquisition tactics ( 18-22 year old exciting project with potential to increase value ) to a striker. Who was the last young European striker we signed, Postiga ? I'm interested to see us go after a Modric/Eriksen mould of a signing, of the striker variety. Its time we made a purchase here i.e. a young exciting talent, to match how we go about business every else on the team.

Looks like we might be in for a rough few seasons. Bit of adversity might snap the support out of the current malaise.
