Morning ITKlings

Have another thread. Cleaner and shinier than Daniel Levy's noggin.

Yesterday I had an accident on my way to the shops and drove into the back of someone at the traffic lights. It was only when the other driver got out that I realised he was a dwarf.

He shouted at me "I'm not happy"……….."Well which one are you then" I replied.

Anyway, we sorted it all out and I continued on my way when suddenly a dildo flies out of the garbage truck I was stuck behind and thumps against the windscreen.

Embarrassed, and to spare my young grandson's innocence, Mrs A&C turns around and says, "Don't worry, that was an insect"

To which, he replied, "I'm surprised it could get off the ground with a cock like that."

Laters.

Morning SC.
We will only be buying if we sell first. Especially up front.
We currently have a big 25 man playing squad so if you see players going then you can expect players to come in but only then (maybe).
Enjoy the window especially the exciting press rubbish and I may/will come back late Jan. ;)

....or too early in the day to expect real ITK? [^^Edit - doh Hoops!! My reply written whilst this little one turned up :D]

Anyway, yesterday MrPink alluded to a seriously bloated squad. I don't actually think we are unique in this position - as I said yesterday the Scousers need to shift and I reckon the Goons had to get rid of Podolski yesterday to make room also. We may well be unhappy with some of our squad players, as the management obviously are, but we just cannot sack them or throw them out. It's been said all along that it's going to take a couple of windows to shift players that the 'Head Coach' doesn't want and bring in new faces. By then we'll all have a new rack of 'fans faves' and want others out. And maybe round and round it'll go.

Please remember, as much as you might want to do it, we do not do Q&A's with the ITK.

As least it means there is less chance of Levy pushing through the Prognyback signing.

Hopefully we can ship out the three amigos who seem to be the block on everything in our club.

But mate, last year at this time it was 3 others. It's a repeating pattern. Do I actually think it's those 3 in particular? Probably not as there's others also. If Kaboom keeps his head down then he is adequate cover (for now) for example. If Ade can get his nutcase head back on track then he is a capable reserve CF and Capoue is fine if needed.

I think it's the fans 'perception' of a block as opposed to total reality. It's probably convenient for us as fans to have someone to blame.

I'd like to think we could move Lennon, Naughton, Chiriches on quite comfortably. Hopefully BAE too. Then there are the more challenging ones like Kaboul, Capoue, Adebayor.

What were the 3 others last season? I dont believe it is any coincidence at that our fortunes have taken an upturn since they have been shunted out.

And if you think it is a perception issue, then clearly it is one shared by our manager as you dont just drop 3 of your first team (captains at that) without reason.

I would put money on them being the three we are most desperate to clear out, both for a squad harmony and wages point of view.

I don't think Capoue would bee too challenging?

He is a very good footballer who we didnt sign for an extortionate fee, he seems his attitude hasn't been a fit here but I would have thought we could have sold him reasonable easily if thats what we were trying to do.

Didn't BAE previously fail a medical due to a chronic dodgy knee?

I actually think Kaboul and Capoue would be decent signings for somebody - the main issue with Capoue would seem to be the motivation, he's very capable.

Shame we dont have Portsmouth around any more, they always used to be a decent dumping ground. Hopefully Arry will be on the phone at QPR though

Perfect ITK.

To be honest, this should set the tone of the window. Ignore the excitement created in the media, let Poch get on with it. Slowly keep iproving and building on what we've done already.

One thing this season has shown, is that we absolutely need to give the coach time, he's done well so far, kept us within reach of top 4, still in all competitions - pretty remarkable considering some of our displays and this ITK only goes to show that we won't be going out panic buying, or buying to secure top four (which comes with no guarantee's either), whilst continuing the foundation building and bringing through youth.

It actually feels to me like we are starting to build... again!

I've only bothered to look at the first few pages from a single thread from a year ago. Please tell me about the support then for Capoue, Dawson*, Naughton, Rose*, Holtby, Benny and on?

*Actually funnily enough you yourself did support the 2 I've hi-lighted above in amongst all the gnashing and discontentment from others.

Edit - I won't continue this though as it will bore the pants of most! :coffee:

I do appreciate JJ coming in and setting out the lay of the land. Allows me to focus on the football, of which there will be plenty thanks to our fixture pile up!

(That said I'll likely be back lurking this afternoon...)

But the massive fundamental difference, is that was players being judged on a forum by fans who were sharing opinions that ultimately do not matter.

This has no comparison, the three now have literally been dropped by the manager, ie the man whose opinion does actually matter. I dont think it is any way unreasonable to suggest they are top of the unwanted list. I dont know why you find it so upsetting.

If we ship out Lennon, Ade, Kaboul, Bae and Capoue, bring in one or two loans then that should see us through to the summer. The latest itk would suggest we are looking to trim the squad rather than bring anyone in. I'm near certain Poch suggested at the start of the season he would like to be working with a 18-20 man squad.

Somehow the emergence of Kane, Eriksen and Chadli as consistent match winners is making me more at ease with the fact our January will seemingly not address squad issues again. Maybe because we're starting to see some evidence of Poch's methods take root. Getting rid of the perennial Spurs bloat that always seems to stop us from buying the right players that the manager really wants will be Poch's biggest challenge - hopefully by taking some of the players right off the radar he's making his presence felt in this regard.

Ive just seen pochettino's press conference last night and when asked if we would have anyone in before the Palace game the look on his face was one that we've seen before from Tottenham managers, no chance.

That I can understand but I really hope we are trying hard to move players on, it is a difficult one though if they don't want to leave. Its always been our problem, we have to pay good wages to get the players we need to get us to the top 5/6 places in the league but then when we want rid of them, the lower placed teams can't afford their wages. I suspect its probably the same for lots of clubs abroad as well. Frustrating but one that the Chairman should be used to by now and should be able to deal with. Thats why JJs info seems a fair reflection of the state of play. Great news that we are looking to bolster the striking department, we've basically got kane and thats it. Getting one of Ade or Soldado off the wage bill, even on loan for the season would be great.
