I’d be absolutely fine with David but only if we get a winger alongside him.
I dunno why I like Rashford, maybe cause he English,I’m n Irish. or maybe cause I’d love him to rip it up with us and United to regret it.I remember reading that his pressing stats and physicality are great. He’s not an exact match for Dom, but that’s the kind of player we need to rotate with him.
I don’t dislike the idea of loaning Rashford either, I think he’s a talented player who’s in the wrong situation. But long term I think David would be a better bet.
I could of course be thinking of an article about a completely different player instead of David in which case I might be talking bollocks.![]()
With Rash yeah u take the chance, but u have both. I think if successsful would be great for the club and no I don’t think we have to be English based totally, but it’s always nice.I’d be absolutely fine with David but only if we get a winger alongside him.
Wouldn’t you say the same about all 3?I’d be absolutely fine with David but only if we get a winger alongside him.
Does David really provide a wide optionWe get David then.
Be fucking exciting yes? Who don’t like a winger/froeward.Wouldn’t you say the same about all 3?
Levy would shite himself. Calculater0ut.Wouldn’t you say the same about all 3?
From what I’ve seen he is a cf, so a job wide yes, but it’s shoe horning again.Does David really provide a wide option
Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole personally.I dunno why I like Rashford, maybe cause he English,I’m n Irish. or maybe cause I’d love him to rip it up with us and United to regret it.
Yes but I’m not sure the club would necessarily feel the same. I think all three would take different roles.Wouldn’t you say the same about all 3?
None of the aboveI don’t think any are wonderful fits for what I think an Ange team needs - but out of those and taking into consideration we want a Solanke rotation and a wide forward option I’d go:
1) Muani
2) Rashford
2) David
Found in the Rashford thread, so go give your appreciation to @Tobiasfromthelane .Prof on coys:
Multiple targets being worked on. Has to be that way because January can be a tricky time for transfers, not only because it’s part way through the season but also because you only have 25% of the time to conclude a deal, compared to the summer window. We’re pushing for two in particular, however one of them would be challenging to complete in this window unless the player’s current club reduces their compensation requirements. The other one was agreed with the player and was mostly agreed with the club, but then another club expressed an interest and the player’s agent is looking to leverage that into getting a better deal for his client. There is also a younger player we’re in negotiations for, but that deal would be for him to join us in the summer.
Even though I know it’s a targeted approach based on our metrics+scouting data, because we’re kicking the tyres on a significant number of potential options, and we’re trying to get January deals concluded in parallel with laying the groundwork for potential summer signings, from my perspective as an ordinary Spurs fan whose info is entirely 2nd and 3rd hand via gnomes, it can feel a bit scattergun even though it clearly isn’t. The COYSers who were on that Dec 30th zoom call will know that during the call I shared the snippet that we would buy between 1 and 3 players in the January window and that a young European goalie would be the first signing. With that one in the bag, now I wouldn’t be surprised if we successfully acquired both, or only one, or none of our top targets in this window.![]()
Please don’t ask me for names or positions. I know most COYSers appreciate that I share what I’m told I can - except when my decrepit brain forgets to post the info, which has only happened twice …. unless I’ve also forgotten about other times.![]()
Feeling a sense of De Ja VuI’d be absolutely fine with David but only if we get a winger alongside him.

Good that we're looking to secure a summer transfer for a promising youngster. It's a policy that is serving us well. The alternative choices always excite too.
