Muntari played CM with Diarra. Taylor got dropped for Krancjar and then sold
Well he played Mendes or The Wardrobe in midfield with Diarra and Utaka on the right and Muntari on the left, he played Kranjcar in the hole because the other two tracked back more

If he did play there it was down to injuries/regulars. Mendes and Diop weren't regulars

You guys are all making the points that were central to my argument for wanting Harry out.

The squad did everything they could for 3rd, they wanted it bad - hell they wanted the title even!

Harry didn't use the squad.

Pienaar he played in bits and pieces in the wrong positions.

Kranjcar hardly featured, when Modric broke his leg Kranjcar was central to us going on a great run and I'll never forgot his 10/10 performance vs City at WHL that was the end for Mark Hughes. Even last season Kranjcar had a few super-sub moments but you could see that he was never gonna get a fair run.

Bassong was also virtually an every-present when we got 4th then in the CL season he got dropped and played irregularly which led to some really poor performances (Young Boys away, Blackpool away, Fulham away FA cup).

Corluka is an international and a solid and steady player who was in our first team for 2 years, in the end him going on loan saw Kyle Walker play when injured and not up to his usual standard...and in turn miss out on the Euros.

I refuse to believe these guys all became shit players over-night, and equally I refuse to believe it was Harry who made some of them good players in the first place.

I know sometimes the papers and ITKs come under question but the recent stuff about Levy being concerned why Pienaar was so good at Everton and Harry can't get that from him, and Harry's talk of "being brave" and spending big in the window...when he doesn't use the players he has...its all so valid.

Its so clear that if you put this squad under a manager who can incentivise a squad by rotating and providing genuine competition for places...this squad could challenge for the title (maybe not win it...but give a damn good run for the top 2). And before the smart arses come along...a manager who does this would also change up the squad which could help it not produce the horror show we had Feb onwards

Agree. Such a good point it had to be posted twice!

Also, if harry really is stirring things up via the media, i cant see how levy can/will do anything other than sack him.

As we know levy is no mug and will not be held to ransom. Especially from the clubs own manager

And as we also know, Levy is perfectly capable of feeding the press himself.

To summarize. Everything is on hold until the Levy/Redknapp situation is sorted. Which may take longer now due to unconfirmed reports that Levy's mother has passed.

So very unlikely we get any movement before the Euro's. I'd imagine we should all be bracing ourselves for a trickle of ITK over the next couple of weeks. Hopefully JJ can feed us small tidbits at least, like if Levy is rocking the double breasted jacket today?

And how would you respond to the point that despite the bollocks we made of most of the eight games that followed the Immigrants fiasco, we still ended up with the 8th-best points total in the last 61 years? (Following on from 2009-10, which was the 6th-best.) Do you recall the last time things were as good in the league as they have been since 05-06—excluding the interlude when that useless **** Ramos was in charge, of course?

I do.

Amazing really... You made such a convincing post without even mentioning Defoe.

What a fucking hoot. Having been asked for his response to a factual statement, HybridSoldier answers by disagreeing with it, and punky follows suit. The deep thinkers really are out in force tonight.

Like, duh.

I do.

Is this supposed to be a derogatory terms for the Emirates stadium? Because a large number of Brits come from immigrant descent - so this could be somewhat offensive. I heard this nickname for the stadium before, didn't catch on though for some reason.

Anyway to bring this back to the original discussion. Yeah sure, things are great, I've said multiple times that I am happy to keep Harry because he is the safe option and has done a good job. But also, as good as things are, they could be even better.

This can be evidenced in the fact that the team was 3rd for 2/3 of the season, some say we overachieved in the first half of the season but I don't buy that. This isn't a rag-tag bunch of PL newcomers like Hull were, people know what Spurs are about and players like Adebayour and Parker weren't exactly new to the league. The great form we had was through a good XI that found a good rhythm with a lot of the players playing at the max capacity. And inevitably it wouldn't last - A 1500m runner can't run at the same pace for the whole race. But Harry continued to play the same team and the players were tired - he didn't change it up other than play Saha for a few games. So we didn't over-achieve, we did what this squad is capable of and couldn't see it through as the fitness wasn't managed properly and neither was the personnel in the transfer window.

We're all happy with what we have - but if we keep letting the past restrict us then we will always be happy where we are and never do any better. What gives me hope is that Levy has this same mentality which he showed in the ruthless sacking of Jol, and the speed with which he got rid of Santini and then Ramos and showed the humility in his mistakes to admit he got it wrong with the DoF and a foreign coach with limited communication skills. So if it is indeed time for Harry to go then Levy will decide and do whats best...I believe in that.

Is it wrong that my first reaction to Levy's old dear croking was to wonder how much this would hamper the Vertonghen signing ?

If you don't want me disagreeing with your post then stop posting bullshit.

And if you aren't mature enough to handle the new reputation system like a adult then I suggest your don't post at all.

I tried to give you a grow-the-fuck-up rating but can't find it. So you'll have to settle for my 1st ever dumb rating I have given. And no, it's not because hybridsoldier gave you one either.

Good player is Sigurdsson, but I'd rather get Afellay for the same price.

Sigurdsson would be decent addition to the squad. Don't think first XI for our ambitions though, but a lot of potential and talent has this guy. Could fill in in every position in a offensive midfield
Why have people started to talk like Yoda? Has ITK linked us to Darth Vader or something?

I now see what you meant, I am not a poster who disagrees with posts and does't explain why - although there are loads who do. I disagreed and then replied - sorry my speed was not sufficient

Having read your recent posts, SS57 (and making no comment regarding their rights and wrongs), I am forced to an inescapable conclusion: you are even more of a grumpy fucker than I am.

God bless you.
