Secondary centre forward? Surely this window with no llorente now?

IMO not 100% necessary as we have Moura and Son that can play up top if needed, and Llorente getting a new contract is not beyond the realms of possibility. But yes, we may need another back up if we don't resign Llorente.

I'm fine with us not signing a 3rd choice goalkeeper, a CB (if toby is seeing out his contract) and a backup ST. Main issue for me now is RB, especially if trippier is going. CAM and a backup for whoever plays there is also very important.

5 transfers (plus jack clarke and steven sessegnon back on loan) doesnt sound too unreasonable, does it?
I don't see any way we go into a season without a third choice goalkeeper, maybe the young kid we just bought might be enough but we need someone on the bench if one of the others gets an injury and when Hugo sits out the cup competitions.

To add Lo Celso and the Sessegnon’s to Ndombele and Clarke is a huge start to the window, especially if these latest links are done quickly. Sound close. All previously stated early on by ITK’s.
Seems like Toby and Eriksen may well go, but if Ceballos is part of any Eriksen deal, then so long as we add a CB, then may have lost some of our higher end players, but I’d say stronger level overall, we will come out better in terms of strength in depth.
Ceballos is an odd one, with Ndombele and potentially Lo Celso joining, if Ceballos going to get any more minutes with us, especially if it’s just a loan.
I’m not convinced a RB will come in, especially until two of the fire t incumbents move on. Maybe see another CB to both cover Toby’s departure and also allow Foyth to play RB, think someone alluded to this previously, may have been Herc.
Still like to see an additional forward come in, big suppose that’s lower down the priority.
Not sure where in that list of required players the ‘under 21 with huge potential’ fits in.

Good start to the window though, almost makes the 500+ day wait worthwhile. Be great to see Poch with the players he wants for majority of preseason.

We've entered the part of the window which feels crazy exciting but also unrealistic at the same time.

Would be extremely pleased with Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sess Twins and possibly a New RB. That's all we need for now, assuming CE and Toby stay. If Toby leaves we will need a new CB but that's it.

Don't think its very smart to bring in 6/7 new players in one window, rather 3/4 over 2 windows so they have time to bed into the squad properly. This excludes youth prospects.

In relation to Ali Z’s ITK, I think Afri-coy has it spot on. Everton last season are a case in point.

I seem to remember Wenger saying the same thing a few years ago that signing any more than 3-4 players to go straight into your first team is not good for stability. I thought it was rubbish at the time, but it turned out it was him that was both rubbish & unstable.

Still had a good point though :)

Logically this goes without saying so think about it before losing your shit.

Start the rebuild now, finish it in the summer of 2020 and go for the title 20/21 season

Lovely jubbly (y)

Anybody expecting more than we’re getting right now is a full blown sociopath.

Chelsea and Mourinho proved that to not be entirely true. Brought in 7 first team players and won the title.

I'm not expecting or suggesting we go crazy but we could easily add 5 new first teamers and integrate them well enough as we have a core in place already. It's when you bring in 5 or 6 and expect them to be core players is what causes disruption.

Rushing out this morning, but I'm now convinced that you're right on Dani Olmo.

For starters, if you contract 'Dee has said' to 'Dee's said', you get DZ (i.e. Dinamo Zagreb).

Also, if you rearrange seven of the letters in Dani Olmo, you get 'in a mood' (i.e. annoyed).

What I can't do yet is work out what to do with the extra 'l' or 'he tossed it', but we're definitely getting close...
Taking all of my self restraint not to post a picture of Elmo and saying this guy

It’s very hard to judge where we will be at the end of the window with Eriksen and Toby’s futures up in the air.

Could be a tremendous window. Or could end up weaker than we started in all but one area of the team.

A proper rebuild is going to take a couple of years to sort out. There's older players like Vertonghen and even Lloris that will have to be factored in.

Didn’t @Rob say don’t overestimate how much thought goes into these cryptics?

And also that we were already close yesterday with all the Madrid guesses?

Chelsea and Mourinho are the exception and not the rule. In general, adding too many new bodies almost always unsettles the balance and "gel" of the squad. But I get your point, we could in theory sign 5 first team players and bed them over the first few months without much disruption but I feel as if Poch would want 3/4 and then another 1/2 in January with the rest of the issues to be addressed in the summer of 2020.

Olmo, Lo Celso, Ceballos, Eriksen.

Being realistic I think we’ll probably end up with 2/4 at the end of the transfer window.
