Whilst I feel pissed that RB fell through, as we will not deal until summer, for reasons will not share. Rest assured that there is s player all but tied up in similar position, that is likely to cost a good few bob, for summer transfer.

I am told that if we had a choice, everyone would opt for this player. No hints as do not want it to go viral. We are very keen on someone from Watford. No hard guesses there, but summer. Let’s wait before we start shooting our Daniel.

Thanks for the info, as always, Herc. My guess, from your info, is that we are talking about 2 different players. I'm not going to start guessing games, but it's encouraging that we seem to be trying to get the deals done early.

Let's hope that dear Leader has learnt his lesson. Of course, it could just be that he wants a big signing for the extra publicity for the opening of the new stadium!

The carrot has again been dangled, but do we ever end up with the players we are promised for future windows? We need to add to the squad now, or miss out on CL next year. It's plainly obvious, our new stadium won't have the same pull for the europa league, it's so silly to tarnish it by not getting who we want now. Other top teams add players and move quickly when their top 4 sights are looking threatened. We stagnate.. Our first CL year under Harry, we totally missed out by not adding a decent striker to our team in the Jan window. Looks like we may do the same now by not adding a winger or quality CM. So frustrating.

Whoever the player is I hope it's not a young player who "will develop under Poch" or will be a star in the future. We need players for the here and now, players who will immediately come in and push us on as a club. We've got fantastic players here and we can't wait two, three years for someone to become great cos half of them will be gone or declining and we will need to rebuild and we might not be as lucky next time.

Agree. It was all abundantly clear when he went public about needing his targets signed THIS January. I think if we don't see significant signings this Jan, next season will sadly be Pochettino's last at Spurs, as he'll realise he's wasting his time as nothing but a useful cog in the wheel of ENIC's billion pound profit exercise.

Because that isnt the way dear leader operates. He should back him now but we dont do january transfers. Then our summer targets are too much. We wait until the season starts to do any business and around and around we go

Makes you wonder why we don’t sell Sissoko and buy RB and still secure the ‘other player’ in the summer. That’s how you improve the squad short term and long term. We are crying out for something different from midfield which RB could bring to the table.

Well if RB was who Pochettino was looking for, Levy really is not backing him. Our time has come, no point in waiting to the summer. We need a couple of shrewd signings to secure top 4 or we could find it very hard to break in again next season.

Im not normally kneejerk but we need some new atracking players this window. We have a fully fit attacking squad of players yet its not as deep as the other 5 teams

This is where one starts to worry that old problems are resurfacing despite our best manager in a long time.

We managed to pull £30M from nowhere to sign Sissoko
Pochettino has on numerous occasions described the Sissoko signing as driven by Daniel Levy
But then we don't seem to be able to find any money to sign Ross Barkley who has apparently been Poch's number one target for over a year
