I don't know why people keep quoting his book as evidence for anything or truth. Just because Poch says something it doesn't mean it's true.

Like you said he questions Barkley's attitude but then its Poch's no.1 target.
He is worried about how big money signings and then spends 30m on Sissoko who isnt even worth 30m and has him on the bench when Wanyama and Dembele are fit. He also was happy for us to spend however much money on Sanchez.
Then you say he believes the academy players bring more desire to win. Well yes when he first arrived that desire helped save him, yet the fact he has only brought 1 through himself, suggests that desire isn't given him enough incentive to use them. Finally like Hercules s0iad he sin't going to stay regardless. It's like Jesus now has a bible to accompany his stories that people are turning to as evidence.

Just because Poch has had his beliefs written down it doesn't mean any of it is right or truth, he can change his opinion as he has done many times. He even admits in the book that some of his beliefs have changed.

He has been quite clear that the book is 100% hounest and that’s why he likes IT so much...

Also not all of it is ‘pochs diary’, a fair amount is balagues clever Re wording of pochs press conferences etc so whilst info has technically come from pochs mouth it’s not all ‘straight from the horses mouth’ so to speak but will have been approved by Poch.

The stadium is nothing...! Think about it:
We have one player worth almost half the stadium (sick but true).

We have TV revenue skyrocketing... Finances clearly isn’t an issue....

JJ is allowed but I can't see where he talked about a special player or ins/outs.

Just to clear things up for spurs fans! All I will say this window, it’s a quiet one I’m afraid unless something spectacular presents itself or we sell which would mean we need to replace! It’s pretty much as you were! Big second half of the season ahead & an exciting one! #COYS

Great to hear we have a brilliant relationship with Ajax, which appears to be defined by us plundering their best players. Obviously a two way Street in that they have to agree to sell, but makes me pmsl when people on here bitch about City or Utd trying the same on with our players devoid of any sense of irony or hypocrisy.

Ps. Not a pop at you Hercules, or any ITK for that matter. All good really. All this modern football nonsense just heightens my sense of existential dread. Guess this is also what you were alluding to re: other reason for Barkley not coming. He was just struck by the realisation that there's no point signing for Spurs when we're all going to die anyway. Hence, choosing Chelsea instead.

Football now is unfortunately a business and business relationships are built on working in an ethical and trustworthy way.
99.99% of clubs realise that they are not top of the food chain and only fantasists would think that there players heads would not be turned by bigger and better offers.

Perhaps our relationship with Ajax has been built on this correct ethos. We approach club directly, no tapping up, and reward the selling club accordingly instead of the underhand tactics that the bigger clubs think is their given right.

Just my opinion but there must be some way we have built a "special" relationship above the other teams

There are some murmurs that TV revenue could go down. Sky and BBC are rumoured to be agreeing deals to share their games cross platforms to reduce their costs. PL are introducing more packages to increase the number of tenders some of which allow multiple streaming at same time of all matches.

May not happen but I wouldnt base a lot of my financial projections on TV revenue for the future. Especially with the rise in free (not quite legal) streaming. I live here in Bali and watch most spurs games on my tv without paying a penny

Finally in a position to donate a bit so £20 to the coffers. This site is a god-send. Be it the ITK's sharing their info or you loveable nutcases going into meltdown over every tiny detail this place has killed a fair few hours for me. Here's to this forum being open for many windows to come!

I remember there were postings over the summer about Levy saying (I think in a fan event on US tour?) he thinks the money flowing into the PL right now is a bubble. Honestly if TV revenue did drop, I feel like that might even be a net positive for us...some teams might be blowing their loads at the moment, and I think for all Levy's faults he has set up Spurs as a sustainable business that is going to hedge its bets. Yes the City's of the world are probably/realistically unaffected by anything, but hopefully other Top 6 clubs would be caught unawares.

Anyway that might seem like a stretch...or just off topic. Apologies if so.

Couldn’t agree more, hear the same every summer.
The only place you're hearing this, is in this thread, Poch/Levy haven't come out in the press and said anything of the sort...so if it bothers you so much, why on earth do you bother reading it?
