A fresh thread along with a reminder that this thread is NOT for posting media news.

So what Sky Sports News have to say about a linked player isn't for in here is it. For the fuckknowshowmany'th time, use the player threads.

Fucking plankton would give some of you a run for your money on a quiz night :D

Banstick Bulletin: It seems we haven't used the banstick for the past couple or more transfer windows. TBH I haven't missed it, I mean who wants to keep doing that. However, I feel a bit of danger needs to be reintroduced into this thread. So did I take six bansticks out of their boxes or only five? TBH I kind of lost track myself............So you've got to ask yourselves a question. Do I feel lucky? :hungry:

Right under a post saying no media, we get media AND Twitter. Might as well have called the ITK's a bunch of ****s while you were at it for the perfect hat-trick.

If skipp leaves and he would like regular football then we are considering one of Edwards or kwp as need to replace spurs trained youngster

Can we not just run with a smaller squad? And use a youngster. Seems counter productive to building a squad by just buying a player back to fill a quota.

D1 in response to above
Thought the same but told to far down the line with Chelsea and United
Was the original response in relation to our interest in Eze? Not sure why Olise and spending big at palace would relate to Edwards and the club trained issue.

I've mentioned him before but how about Dennis Cirkin? Sure we had ITK during Joses time that he was running training games from left back. If he has continued to develop at Sunderland and we have a buyback option Ange could mold him to compete with udogie and solve a HG/club trained issue at the same time.

I think he’s been injured most of the season so not sure how much he’s been developing.

Our problem this season was our squad was too small. Skipp wont get game time but KWP could replace Royal as Porro’s back up

But why would he come back to be a back up when he is a nailed on starter at Southampton who back in the PL. Still maintain we never should have sold him.

Not sure whether KWP would want to come back or not. However, he might want to give the club in his heart a second chance if it becomes available. He was very much a fringe player when he was here a couple of seasons back. If he comes back he'd know he isn't a given starter but a squad option on both the left and right, with the chance of playing European football.

Plenty of players choose squad player in top 6 over regular starter in a bottom PL/top championship team.

The same reason most people change their job. Money.

Plus he has a year left on his Southampton deal. I don’t know if they want to give him a new deal but he’s probably looking to leave if he hasn’t already signed a new deal with them already. Or maybe they are looking to get rid if they haven’t offered him one already.

All of this is unlikely to be the reason but you don’t know.

Id agree we could get him over without guaranteeing him playing time, but disagree on the reason why' he'd accept it - we'd have to offer him a significant increase in wages that Southampton would be unwilling to match/come close to in order to get him here.

He's 27 and there's every chance his next contract will be his biggest one financially, I don't think he'll risk giving up playing time for sentiment, it's a profession/career more than anything else.

I spoke with Kyle Walker-Peters a few months back, lovely guy, pretty shy, but was pretty clear that he had to leave Spurs and move on. That's not to say he wouldn't come back, but I think he'd have to be guaranteed some significant game time for him to want it.

Yeah, he's just carved out his career now.

Is he going to want to rejoin knowing that Porro will always be ahead of him?

I'd guess his big plus (aside from his club trained/home grown status) is that he can play both left and right equally well, and so can cover both Porro and Udogie effectively.
