WLB on Eze (in the Solanke thread!)
eze deal from what i know only gets done if we activate that release clause . Parish and co won’t negotiate they have no reason to they don’t wanna lose him. We have looked into a higher fee with structured payments but they want that ballon payment not 12 mill a year . They don’t typically back down and I don’t see why they should !

With the release clause- we know what it will cost- it's just how much we want him.
If this is the main target and it keeps everyone in the club content, then the powers that be should get it done ASAP.

They’ve always had the control, knowing what we need to do means there’s no reason for us to dive in as we’re probably waiting to see if any alternative comes available later in window.

Yeah all these targets are their teams star men.

We're going to have to pay big on the sellers terms.

Playing the waiting game to eek out the most favourable terms on any of these targets just feels a bit futile and slowimg up the integration of getting in who we need in.

I don’t feel confident on Eze.

Just don’t have good vibes at the minute, think we’ll piss around and they’ll tell us to fuck off.

Hopefully I’m wrong!

If we're waiting and trying to do structured payments, that implies that we do want him and are trying our luck, We know we have the cash for the full buy, but we have a preferred method. Potentially this is also what's delaying the Neto deal. If we blow it all on Eze does it mean we don't have the cash for Neto?

That said, they are doing exactly what we did with the Kane deal. Whoever blinks first.

Levy wont pay the release clause, cos in his tiny mind he will have lost...its why he always changes deals late on, he needs to feel he has won...
Let’s not do this here. Take it to the “I don’t like Daniel Levy” threads that must exist across about 8 forums on this site.

I wonder if there are any deadlines for Eze's release fee. We could just as easily trigger it on the last day of the window. Assuming there is a date, I presume that is the deadline for getting a deal done for Eze.

But Palace aren’t posturing and playing chicken, their stance won’t change.
So if it’s £60m up front, leaving it to the last minute has no benefit to us.

Also means Eze has no pre-season with us, misses the first few games and leaves Palace no time to source a replacement. So I’d be shocked if this became a 31/8 special.

But it also means we know how to get it done, with zero room for error.

Only once we know where we stand with other offers will the opportunity cost of spending the entire fee in one go become clear. I can certainly understand why we'd do this.

It's a certainly a more important long term decision when compared to an additional 2 weeks of pre-season

Exactly , that's their problem if there is a non timed release clause. we can trigger on the 31st and they cant do anything but be pissed off.

Can we not get a loan from somewhere, pay off the full amount and pay back the loan in instalments?

That's several times @Stoof has had to point that out and in quick succession too. I'm pretty sure at some point someone will just get rid of the perps who have to keep being told.

I'm also pretty sure that someone will be me.

Happy days.

We haven’t moved on it as far as I know and if we do the strategy will have changed which is expected ! Solanke is too expensive though David is another one being looked at which I feel will be more likely but club haven’t moved for a striker atm . Still focusing on the primary target 🎯 expect much needed movement within the next week when back from tour !
