Pretty sure we were in a position to do a deal if Hoj was sold to Fulham last window? I don’t think that’s right Mr P.
Much akin to where we are now - Chelsea willing to sell (at the right price) but a seemingly reluctant player.

Perhaps because of the intense rivalry Gallagher and his camp have played down interest but all supposition and I get where @Trix is coming from that we don't pursue a deal for this long without encouragement from both the selling club and the player/agent.

So Min-Hyuk was one of the 'three' after all.

Two in attack feels needed. Eze and either a striker or Neto type would be great.

I wonder if the early impressions of Gray and Bergvall have reduced our interest in further midfield signings. I wouldn't be against it. Plus I also see Eze as someone that can play a midfield role if needed.

Still feel a bit concerned about our LB/CB /GK depth personally, but I guess Ange was never likely to get a complete squad overhaul in three windows.

Unless I’m wrong and happy to be corrected. I don’t think anyone ever stated there would only be 3 more incomings?

O’Keefe said we were ready to accelerate on 3.

Or maybe I missed something and happy to be told otherwise 😀

Bit worried about the lack of ITK links to central midfielders above and beyond Gallagher, (is Gray ready as a champions League quality first choice?)... Bissouma and Bentancur have been inconsistent at best, Sarr is still young and tailed off badly at the end of last season and Skipp isn't good enough.

Think we're desperate for a top quality first choice in the middle.

if gallacher does not go madrid we may try again but he has never shown a desire to come to us
Hmmm. I'd have hoped the priority was Neto, but ho hum.

If it's two good players, one of which is Eze, I think I'd take that

These latest bits of info should keep the meltdown at bay & hopefully we get the primary targets for Ange & maybe even a late in the window chance signing too. I'm staying optimistic, only 4 more sleeps for me until the TW shuts anyway :cautious:

Please can we not take a snippet of ITK as the entire truth of the entire picture of what is going on.

If a player isn’t mentioned that doesn’t mean we’re not still interested in that player.

Treating two sentences as the state of the union address is not helpful.

Feel the same. Could be because we're struggling with our squad size and registering players for the EL, and CL if we qualify for next season?
Not to mention we still have plenty of players to shift.

Yeah I'm wondering if that is the case, but we have been pretty decent with outgoings so far IMO. We need a bigger squad than last season too, not smaller.

I'd expect Royal to leave still plus Lo Celso. Can't see us struggling for suitors for Skipp either. Solomon may be tricky to move on aside from a last week loan deal.

Suggesting only 2 more incomings isn’t nearly enough, whereas we’re told by most other ITKs it looks like 3 more, hoping the latter is true.

We definitely need at least 3 more ready to go players.

This is what WLB posted last night in the Gallagher thread and to me this is the most key bit of info he shared.

Even tho we moved away he’s always been in the bracket as a want for the club and Ange it’s been a pain in my ass I can’t lie . I don’t think it will largely affect what we do if we push the button

We know that we want an AM and WF, maybe getting Eze, Neto and Gallagher will be a too much of a financial stretch but even if we change our specific targets it certainly seems like we will still be getting players in the positions we earmarked going into the window.

For example maybe we end up with one of Baena, MGW, Doué etc rather than Eze but ether way getting Gallagher hopefully won’t effect the overall plan. If we even get Gallagher that is.

It's distinctly possible Ange likes the way the kids have played in pre-season and is therefore less bullish on signings.

I’m sure I’m in the minority here but every time I see how we play and then a ball gets played through our midfield because no one is there or has the legs and leadership to cover, I think “yeah I’d like someone like him”. This actually disappoints me a bit.
Having seen Ange's interview yesterday where, in so many words, he said that Gary and Bergvall are technically gifted and very promising but not yet physically ready for the Premier League, I'd be surprised if we do not make a last minute effort to sign Gallagher (and of course his representatives must have encouraged the club's interest in the past).

It is from my side of things. A lot of the time I guess it depends where you are hearing it from as to where about in the pecking order these things sit.

No it doesn’t.
That is what the line 'suggests' to be fair.

What it doesn't do is give a full picture of moving parts or interest.

And that's also if you take one ITKs opinion based on the snippets he hears as gospel, which of course shouldn't be the case.

We needed a saga after a dearth of news and I’m absolutely here for it. 🫡

Gallagher would be transformative to our play, imo.

Not as good as it used to be, in my opinion but still worth listening to.
Remember that all ITK's info come from different places, so can sometimes lean towards whatever that certain source is saying.
A pinch of salt should always be kept close at hand, if only to prevent over reacting.

He might have only heard of 2???

FWIW I have only heard 2 names active right now and it's been that way for a couple of weeks, yet we signed a young player only this week that I knew nothing about until it was all but finalised. I think there will be more than 2 more coming in, but as far as actual passable information goes it's only 2 more to come from my POV. Again though I doubt that to be the case.

Not everyone posting ITK is hearing everything that is going on. In fact I'd say there is only one person right now that is hearing the bulk of our dealings and actually posting it anywhere on the net live.

Just want to say a big THANK YOU to all our ITKs and to those who bring ITK intel from elsewhere. Keep up the good work!🤍💙

Interesting times with the club - it seems like we’re in a good place, and developing in the right direction! Ange and his team of coaches; how the recruitment setup with Lange, Munn et al seem to be working; the young talent showing of their stuff in preseason tour matches; and the possibilities of more players coming (and some going!) this window.

Makes sense. For example there have been some minor links to Dorgu and Locko in the media at points during this window, so it is likely that LB is another position we are looking at, it's just lower down the priority list right now.

Also goes without saying that exits are going to affect our business before the window ends. Richy staying or going will have a big impact on our eventual business for example.
