Thuram is poor defensively and significantly weaker the deeper he plays. It’s one of the issues he’s been having at Nice of late as he’s been asked to do more defensive work. Good player and has potential but he is not a DM.

I actually find it pretty crazy that a club would scout him as a potential 6 in all honesty.

Is he any good in a pivot? Unlikely I know but maybe Ange is considering a tweak to our shape in the summer?

Agree on Onana, not impressed at all when I've seen him

Will wait on the threads before going back and forth too much on the links but seems to me that along with WF, our midfield options are clearly in need of some bolstering/competition.

How we balance some of that with the HG reqs seems like a challenge but I think we all can see that when out of form/sharpness with some key players, we’re lacking some options in a couple of vital areas that Ange needs to control games.

PS thanks for the ITK snippets

Pleased to hear ITK saying we’ve got a DM so high on the list, we’re really crying out for not one but two. A proper 6 should really help Sarr, Bentancur and maybe even Bissouma thrive.

I'd be very happy with either Onana or Thuram, thanks for the info WLB.

We desperately need some more physicality in the team. It's no surprise that we were at our best with a midfield pairing of Wanyama/Dembele.

Zubimendi is too lightweight to be a 6 in the prem IMO.

Told there is strong interest in Fofana.

Edit: I'd better clarify this is Youssouf Fofana from Monaco not the vastly overpriced Chelsea gimp.

I’m not sure he fits us very well, I hope we’re not going down the route of opportunity once again over fixing the squad issues.

Ange has boards full support , we were expecting up and down season , the squad needed huge overhaul , both johan , Fabio and ange knew it was going to take 3 to 4 windows to get right

we are back to the days of scouting young talent with huge ceiling before they get to the madrids , Barca and city like we did with Luca and bale , so you look at Brennan and Mickey and udogie they are all in that 20/21 age bracket and players do not hit their peak until 23/24 we need to be patient for them to hit their ceiling

this summer will be a huge overhaul , with the exception of first choice back 5 ,drags , madds , bentacur , sarr , sonny and Brennan we are open to offers for everyone else and in many cases encouraging offers , it’s no secret that ange does not think our front 3 is anywhere near the level it should be

we will try for Conor Gallagher again and we will be in for eze , ange is going to be heavily heavily backed this summer

much of how successful ange will be will be how well he intergrates the kids the next two years I cannot begin to express how good donley , Moore , Dorrington and the Swedish kid bergdal are we have incredible talents coming through

The last paragraph isn’t the most confidence enhancing as he surely must have seen how rubbish we are that he could have given minutes to some of those

Enjoyed reading that. I think it’s fantastic that all of the team are on the same wavelength and understand that we need to make the most of the next few windows in making us successful not just in the short term, but the long term.

It's both encouraging and discouraging reading that he'll be heavily backed as we've heard this before.
We've struggled to sell our unwanteds for years and we're in for another year without CL money.

I do hope this summer will be different.

“Players do not hit their peak until 23/24” I don’t agree with that, some players do sure but I don’t think most are peaking at 24.

Im also slightly worried that on the one hand apparently Ange says our attacking front 3 are not up to scratch and we’re willing to sell everyone but Johnson and Son aren’t on that list. I can see giving Johnson time but what’s Son’s excuse, he’s certainly way past his best and personally I’d put him on the “willing to listen to offers” box.
