I thought we might as well refresh the thread.

We're literally up and running now, so we'll start out by asking you to get whoring and putting any ITK into this thread as well as the Read Only (RO) for the benefit of those who don't wish to sift through this thread.

Obviously we'll try to keep this as on topic as possible and if you haven't read the rules please do so now. Last chance/warning as this part of the site and this thread in particular are modded differently to anywhere else on SC.

Okey Dokey, here we go.

The window actually starts on January 3rd for some reason. However, as we saw last summer, it doesn't really make a difference.

Let's hope we some some ITK soon :woot:

Boom. A shock to see dovahkiin providing the first piece of news in the new thread! To be fair - I like the look of Ings - young, homegrown, potential etc - and he looked dangerous enough against us recently, but we haven't gone down that kind of route for a striker since the Bobby Zamora days

Might have to bung a tenner into the SC coffers soon.
Nice one. At some point this January SC will be skint if it isn't already and Rob has been funding the site out of his own lucy again without letting me know.

I'll be holding you all up by the ankles and giving you a good shake at some point soon (y)

Right! Anyone who wants to add to the coffers in the time honoured manner: please add your pledges to the transfer pledge thread.

Ings to Saints in the summer does make sense, as it's said he grew up a massive Saints fan. Not sure how they'll make all of Pelle, Long, and Ings work considering it's unlikely IMO they'll finish in the European places.

When does the January transfer window open in 2015?

The winter window opens in the first moment of the new year, one second after midnight on Thursday 1 Jan 2015.

When will it close?

At 11pm on Monday 2 Feb 2015. It would be Jan 31 in years when that date falls on a weekday, but if it falls on a weekend the window closes on the first weekday of February.

Can any deals be concluded after 11pm?

The 11 chimes of Big Ben signal the official cut off point on 'transfer deadline day'. In practice, though, the Premier League regulations provide some leeway for later deals:
"Clubs sometimes conclude deals at the last minute and it is not always easy for them to get everything completed and sent over by 11pm. The deal sheet allows a club to confirm that a deal has been reached in order to allow for additional time to submit the remaining documentation.

"The sheet cannot be used prior to 9pm and needs to arrive fully completed before the transfer window closes. Once the sheet arrives, clubs have got until 1am in which to submit the full paperwork. But if a club are looking to complete an international transfer, it still has to comply with the Fifa Transfer Matching System (TMS) deadline of midnight."

That means clubs have an extra two hours to conclude the business of a domestic transfer, or an hour for an international player.
BBC and other news outlet stating for England can't start buying players until Jan 3rd. Opens up on 1st for few other leagues to start buying though

I'll be putting some money into the pot as soon as I get my winnings from my fantasy football(american) league. Figure SC could share in my glory!

Now give me some positive ITK or a shock CM/striker signing early in the window to make it more;)

We'll see if Saints or Swans have their loanees in the squad if they've been training with them. I highly doubt we'll see Yedlin in the squad tomorrow even if he's been training with the club without anyone knowing

But Brentford just made a signing from Rangers also I think.

Thanks for the heads up A&C, £20 winging it's way to the SC coffers now.

The thought of you holding me up by the ankles and giving me a "shake" is not good so £20 donated
