Exactly. The squad is full. If we aren’t bringing in youngsters that don’t count against the squad numbers, then if (yes, huge “if”) we bring anyone in, we need to move a squad member out, either by selling or by casting them into the obscurity of the reserves/U23s.

Strengthening the squad needs to be of a higher quality than we already have, or youngsters we can include and develop.

No wonder Poch is being picky.

This is good news in my opinion. If by some miracle we manage to seal some outgoing transfers today, that could make tomorrow a more promising day.

JJ's reaction in that post tallies with what Poch said yesterday in his presser, and in the video just look at his facial expression when he says the words 'I am not optimistic at all' (regarding incoming players). We're almost certainly not signing anyone.

Trimming the squad is the bare minimum the club should try and achieve before the end of the window. Get Janssen, Nkoudou and Vorm off the books now and save the headache of trying to shift them in the summer. If we don’t see some targets being acquired then with the stadium completed and the squad relieved of dead-weight some serious questions need to be asked.

Would be nice to remove one potential excuse for not being active in the next window but I’m sure it won’t be long until it’s replaced by other excuses with the same result. No signings.
