What the hell must Pooch be thinking? He is the one who says, Stay....Go. He turns up for training and they are still here. There could wellbe a breakdown in the relationship between Pooch and DL.

He’s probably thinking stop calling me Pooch :D.

Mourinho crying his eyes out and Man Utd have dropped £81m, Chelsea and Arsenal in apparent crisis and still have dropped between them £100m plus, Liverpool CL finalists and finished behind us £170m and the Champions Man city even they have gone out and bought a winger even tho there stacked. Seriously what are we doing.

Re Ali Z's onions...

When the transfer window closing date was brought forward, teams in Europe were always going to wait until after the window shuts to get bargains. They would be mad not to. I actually think it's the correct decision by the PL clubs, but until the rest of the continent does the same, it is going to fuck us.

Hey ho - take the hit and move on. If the club genuinely thought European teams are stupid enough to not wait; i.e. that we would have half of those wanting to be sold gone by now, then I have given them far too much credit over the years. And there is no way they would have expected most of those players to be sold to PL clubs.

All that said - I am doing my very best to stay calm(ish) until the window shuts.
That's my thinking too. Going into this window with a strategy to sell before you buy when you know the rest of Europe has 3 extra weeks to try and buy your players would be so ignorant... It can't possibly be the actual plan... It just can't. :\

Why can't we just go for our targets and not register the non HG players we want to move on? I know wage wise this isn't the best solution, but surely we can loan a few of these players out at a later date when the transfer window closes for us at worst?

Trouble is Levy will expect a loan fee in return.

Still can’t believe we received £6m for Loaning Jansen.

Levy better have all this in hand because I can see this unravelling pretty quickly. This year and next will be so important to maintain champions league and keep Poch/stars very happy. We can’t get left behind. Speculate to accumulate?

Had enough. He's let us down time and again. But this window was crucial, in terms of keeping our best players, and manager. And we're so close in terms of competing for major trophies. If Levy can't get behind this, then he needs to fuck off

If we don’t sign quality additions and miss out on top 4. I’m sure plenty season tickets will not be getting renewed. Levy is a business man and knows he can’t fail to deliver to the fans and especially Poch. Let’s give him until the end of the transfer window before we contemplate stoning all the glass panels at the new stadium lol

If the club continue this back to front thinking all that is going to occur is we last minute attempt to sign a player, selling club telling us it's too late to replace said player. Or we panic and buy someone who means we're in exactly same position in future Windows.

If his opinion is how our strategy has been this window I don't know what we've been hoping for, we'll have known a long time we're not getting acceptable buyers for those players. It's bizarre how we seem completely fine with idea that it's likely we may not sign anyone. Can't wait till this window is shut.

to be honest I'm not sure the PL when they voted for the early window (which not % sure on, but think Scudamore decided this season not next) the impact it would have. Also with Belgium getting to the final weekend that ruled out any hope of Dembele going to China.

just like we can't force clubs to sell us their players, and no one knows exactly what we have offered, but a the big difference is we are now shopping at Harrods, because Tesco might have a special offer from Europe, but we can't sign them, and the 1 we do want has been put on a higher shelf which Baldy is struggling to reach.

By the sounds of it, the past windows have come to bite us in the arse at the 1 time we never needed it.

But Levy shouldn't be making decisions based on a fear of financial loss or a lack of season ticket renewals. He should be aggressive and more forward thinking than that.

He's a fan as well and the game is about glory. I really worry he focuses his decision making on the business side of things, risk/ reward far too much.

If he's only going to spend to keep Poch sweet and ensure season tickets are renewed in 2019 and so on, I ain't sure he's got the frame of mind needed to take this club any further than he already has. We may well have seen Levys ceiling on this one

I want to believe this mate but everything that has happened so far suggests otherwise! Plus the excuses seem to be seeping out already (that Cullen statement!).

Levy is no fool and logic dictates this is a big window, will be a mental final week if he does deliver, but I can't shake this bad feeling.

I‘ve been a season ticket holder for 18 years and while I would never stop going to spurs because of how we perform in the league, I certainly expected more ambition from us in the transfer market with the price increase of season tickets - would be a massive disappointment and missed opportunity to make a statement entering the new stadium

I mean the man's a multi-millionaire businessman that has overseen our rise into the top ten clubs in europe as well as the construction of arguably the best training facility and Stadium in the UK. It's safe to say he's no fool.

Does that mean I'm confident this window won't go horribly wrong, not at all! It does give me cause for some optimism though...

They're absolute clowns if they didn't. How can you not? It's common sense.

As for Levy, I am pissed off as it stands today. I am one of his biggest defenders but the fact is his transfer policy is a double edged sword. Poch could not have been more explicit in what he wanted. Risks taken. Players in early. Levy seems to think the Kane contract was the big risk. He's no idiot. He's a twenty year plus experienced businessman with a Cambridge degree. He's done so many transfer windows. He's done windows with World Cups. He should have known it would be hard, let alone with the stupidity of a window shutting three weeks earlier here than elsewhere, living the majority of PL clubs screwed over. Whether he liked it or not his hand was forced. If he was going to back Poch he had to swallow his pride this one time and pay the market rate. he needed to make a statement and bring in at least one body early. He has not done so.

Let's not kid ourselves that there is no problem repeating itself on a regular basis. Look at history. Ramos, Redknapp and AVB have all spoken of not getting the players they wanted when they felt it was necessary to push on. Poch may be be saying the right things to the media, but he has looked a lot less enthused lately and I am very concerned that he is beginning to have doubts. The very last thing we need is to lose him and I would hate for Levy to be arrogant and think he can just get someone else in to do the same job. He should know what he had when he has it and he already frustrated Poch last year. Sure, we have been lucky that Poch has been able to take relative unknowns and youth and build them. But that's obviously not all he wants and Levy seems to expect Poch to work miracles while at a disadvantage.

I am not saying we should be one of these clubs that spends rashly or over the top. But occasionally you need to adapt to the market and the situation per window. Not try and play the same strategy over and over even when it doesn't fit. But it seems to me that Levy just cannot help himself and adapt and as a result it is the one area where, in my opinion, he could be doing better. Levy has no problem taking fans for a ride with his measily "free postage for a weekend" offers in the club mail order shop or charging an extra small fortune for season tickets. He needs to start repaying the fans, the manager and the players with investment in the squad, otherwise he's on course to experience what Arsenal's board have faced for the past few years. Unhappy fans and players thinking the club lacks ambition.

Sorry for the rant, but Ali's ITK has made me feel a bit grumpy.

Being no fool doesn't mean incapable of making mistakes.

Stick them in the reserves then. Janssen, GKN, Sissoko, Llorente won't be starting games or even be on the bench if we have a fully fit squad and will soon look to leave if they are playing all their matches wearing luminous bibs all the time.

I'm sorry but we're Tottenham Hotspur! Are you seriously telling me that we are letting scruffy shit like GKN, Janssen & Llorente prevent us from buying in what already is a very niche market for us? This window is turning into an absolute joke, new Stadium or not!

If you want to be a big boy club Levy, act like a big boy Chairman and back your club!

Scruffy shit? That’s over £30m quid plus in investment plus wages. Get back to reality. You don’t buy when you’ve already got payments Impacting cash flow. This isn’t football manager you know.
