Was on here a couple of days ago, ITK's reporting that's what he was put on when his contract was renewed

Akqa said that he was closer to 100k than 70k. Feel like that probably means around 90k, definitely not over 100k.

Ok I talked myself into it. When Athletic Madrid bought him, it was 40m euros over four years. Suddenly the Spain financial crisis hits them, and 30m over three years seems rather steep. We swoop in with 30m up front right now, and they take it. We pay Falcao the same, he understands that debt Ahletic Madrid is in and wants to reunited with AVB, done and done. I am just gonna cling onto that for the weekend bury my head into the sand, and then on Monday I will log back in to my have my hopes dashed.

Honestly something is really off with this whole AVB thing

1) It's being generated purely from the English side. The man still lives in Portugal but no reporter over there has heard a thing about it. Even Pinto, who has close ties between both hasn't heard anything in Portugal and only speaks in the conditional

2) There is ITK that will knock us off our feet. It can't be AVB. Many would be happy, but it wouldn't knock us off our feet. It could mean either mean a buyer (which I am skeptical of) or an enormous player (which isn't our MO and seems less likely than the Sultan of Brunei). So maybe even that is manager and thus not AVB

3) If AVB....seriously why wait. You can say all these things about payoff, but at this point Chelsea have heard the rumors. If AVB is our man and we are waiting for some stupid clause, I'm sure RA would have little issue in court getting this little conspiracy undone.

4) We were looking at somebody else. Enough to anger AVB it seems.

I wonder if it's actually what is going one. Could be, but there is enough doubts creeping in that I am entertaining it. And don't take this as Pep talk. We might be having a hard time establishing the best manager for us.

Maybe, and I admit to not being completely convinced it's AVB nailed on. It could be though that AVB and his peepes are just being professional and keeping their mouths shut about these things. A foreign concept in the English sports meeja I know but it could be as simple as that.

There's been no outright denial that it's AVB..even from JJ.

The 'knock us off our feet' comes from an ex-Spurs player that's about as in the loop as my last pair of trainers.

If (and it's a big IF, admittedly) there is a contract stipulating that AVB is under Chelski pay until July (certainly plausible), then a July announcement might be a logical decision for all concerned.

There's no evidence to suggest AVB was 'angered' by anything. Some bullshit tabloids ran stories sans quotes.

The hype has been building progressively for over a week in favour of AVB. If it wasn't him don't you think he'd come out with a definitive statement saying he's not going to be the new Spurs manager.....seeing as every paper is under that impression, and he's already stated he wants a new management job in the future? Being apparently nailed on for the Spurs job might just put off future offers....

AVB is the new manager. It's really not all that difficult to figure out. I don't need to be 'ITK' to understand that.

I'm not disagreeing with your scepticism on whether AVB is nailed on Happy - quite the opposite in fact, I think other individuals have been and possibly still are in contention for the job.
However, having spoken with a Spanish mate who works in Lisbon, the Portuguese press have been reporting that Spurs are in negotiation with him. Whether or not their sources are local or tapped from the English media I don't know.
