Have a new thread. I love a cryptic more than most (hehe) but that yesterday was a steaming pile cow dung, so let's forget that.

In other news Mrs A&C called me a sex machine yesterday. Actually, she called me 'a fucking tool' but I know what she meant.

cabinessence on ftl:
Bit of sparce Rock Solid info. DL pleading poverty saying he doesn't know where he's going to get the money to buy all these players we're linked with. Also Ange a bit dischuffed with Kulu as although he rates him well enough, apparently he's not great at following instructions. Strange as he seems intelligent enough to be able to take on board instructions, but by all accounts he rates himself as well as his own views on how he should be playing, quite highly and does that rather than what he's been told. Was mutterings of perhaps being prepared to let him go if the right offer came in. All the talk of the next big thing at the academy is Mikey Moore. That's all folk.

well that pinch-of-salt info on Deki has to be one of the most disappointing things I've read on here in a long time as I really enjoy having him on the team

More concerned over the 'Levy pleading poverty' angle here.
well of course but who really cares about that or is surprised to hear that? That's run of the mill usual stuff.

Negative ITK about a beloved player is far more devastating IMO

I'd say a great deal!

As for Deki, without bringing this thread into his playing merits, I've always maintained he's very much a square peg in a round hole at this club and whilst I wouldn't actively be looking to sell him, I also would not be discouraging offers for him which can be funneled into better fits at this club such as Pedro Neto.

It may well depend on context.
Levy may well be pleading poverty, but more in the sense of not having £60mil to drop on one players release clause because it would mean sacrificing the available funds to pay the initial fee on one or to others

Meh not really fussed by anything said in this. Deki is inconsistent therefore, not bothered if he stays or goes. As for Levy usual I’ll judge him on the end of the window.

Wouldn’t surprise me if it was . I thought it was worrying when he mentioned about needing investment in the financial statement
I'd say it's massively doubtful that anyone involved in transfers (i.e Mun, Lange and Ange) don't know , and haven't known for some time, what the budget for this summer is before player sales. It's not like asking a mate to buy a round and him pleading poverty, it's a massive big company with accounts published - you can't pretend your skint (or wealthy) when you aren't !

Fake News.

I won't discuss Deki anymore and discuss it in the player thread.

But Daniel pleading poverty? I mean this is Spurs - you already knew we were never going to splash big, right? I mean I can't be the only one here shrugging his shoulders and being like, "Yeah I could have already guessed that."

It's quantifying 'big' though isn't it?

Isak big (£100m+) patently isn't happening under our fiscal stewardship but Richarlison big most certainly can.

I do also wonder what has happened with regards to securing further investment albeit I dare say this is ear-marked primarily for the hotel development but admittedly that's for the Takeover Thread.

Wording of that is odd. Why would Levy be concerned about signing all the players we’re “linked” with. Links are of no actual concern to the club. He’ll be aware of the squad needs and the football staff will be aware of what outlay is available. Not a huge Levy fan by any means but seems like a case of bashing for the sake of it before anything has even happened

Pleading poverty for signings is very concerning.
Really hope that isn’t true
I wouldn't worry about it, we hear it every window and usually always spend plenty. Even moreso since the stadium's been up and running properly.

Deki's chat can go in his thread, so let's not clog this one with Levy stuff.

The “Levy pleading poverty” stuff is a trope - it’s always trotted out, even when the club has spent substantial sums.

Likewise, it takes no great inside knowledge to know that Mikey Moore is the hot prospect in the Academy.

I put more faith in SC’s ITKs.

Also heard that Romero and Micky are going to be important for us at the back next season
