Understand the importance of this so much more now.

Just found out my mum has cancer of the spine, liver and lower part of the brain, obviously very advanced with no recovery ?

Good luck mate and my thoughts are with you and know it must be hell.

I lost my Dad suddenly almost 3 months ago to the day, and it was a torrid time as totally unexpected and I hadn't seen him for a month. After a few weeks I went back to work, it was hard but helped, as took my mind off things.

I found the evenings more difficult though as that's when my brain would start thinking. I've always loved this forum and found myself going on here even more after his passing. It really did help take my mind off things, not through sympathy, but through talking/reading about Spurs and taking the focus away slightly.

I never got a chance to say goodbye, so make the most of the precious time you have left. Reach out if you ever want a chat.

Overwhelmed by how many of you responded, thanks so much for that.

My mum actually worked in a primary school for years in and around WHL, before coming back to NI.

I'll certainly be donating.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mum in March, not to Cancer but that doesn’t make it any easier. She was only just 50 and I really struggled to come to terms with it. If you ever want a chat or a shoulder to cry on, drop me a PM. I’m also a primary school teacher so I’ll be thinking about her on Sunday when I do the run x

I also want to say the biggest thank you to everyone here who has donated. You are insanely awesome and I am absolutely blown away by your generosity! I only set out to raise £100!!!! I can’t quite comprehend how that total has increased so quickly today. Rob text me to say I needed to check the total! I embarrassed myself by squealing quite loudly in the staff room at lunch time!!

So much love for you guys right now! I’ll even ask @Archibald&Crooks to be nice to you for another 15 mins!! I suppose I better be nice to him for at least a day after his help here!

To my SC family - you are all absolutely incredible! Thank you!

Today has been a statement of intent day the likes of which I’d really hoped we would make the day first got through the qualifying round of the Champions League into the tournament proper all those European adventures ago.

There’s something happening to our club, stadium complete and moved in, Champions League runners up, CL regulars, and suddenly this dynamic shift of world class players wanting to be here and not immediately viewing us as a stepping stone for their careers.

To break our transfer drought with a signing thats over 20m above anything we’ve ever paid is going to send shockwaves through the PL. if we go and bring in another world class talent before the window closes the teams who see us as the weakest of the top four and the one that might be dislodged, your United’s, Arsenal’s of the world are going to die a little bit inside. Today is a good day.

—and an aside, thanks to everyone for sharing their stories today in empathy with Mr Pink, it’s humbling and heartwarming to see, and a timely reminder that we all carry heartbreak with us.

Dunno about you lot, but I’m getting excited about the coming season... we could be on the brink of something bloody brilliant. It’s been a long time since I felt like that.

For the last 18 months it seemed like Levy was sporting the smallest of members in the dick waving contest that is the current transfer market. Turns out he was merely showing the first inch of a coiled up yard.

Any more of this sort of thing and I might go full BBLG.
Never go full leGin :cautious:

Part of the reason I signed up after a couple of years lurking was to donate to SC and have moral high ground over the other lurkers (if they don't donate). Threw a little to the great cause of the Race for Life while I was at it.

It's been a real nice day on here today and that's down to people like yourself and everyone else who has donated to your cause. I am majorly on my ass currently financially and that's been emotionally and physically difficult but the feel good factor of everyone helping you and your good causes as well as all the well wishes for Mr Pink has helped my mood. I even got 30 minutes of excitement thanks to Little Daniel. :)

The club tries to push the family feel of the team, but it's in the terraces and online where the real family feel is.
