@Mr Pink

The Big Cancer Thread in Chat has been great for me.

Recently found out my mother has cancer in every lymph node, alongside a tumour in the bowel and five in the liver. Chemo has a 10% chance of giving her another 3 years - but terminal

I'm heading home this weekend to hear if she wants to bother with chemo, and find out how many weeks/months she has left.

All I can say is that it hit me massively, such a shock, but the guys on this forum are fantastic support when you need to be the brave one in front of your family.

Understand the importance of this so much more now.

Just found out my mum has cancer of the spine, liver and lower part of the brain, obviously very advanced with no recovery ?

So sorry to hear. Lost both my adoptive parents before I reached 40.

Try and stay strong, and as others have wrote, feel free to chat, there's plenty of good folk on this site that I'm sure would lend you their time to converse if that's what you need.

Stay strong, Mr Pink.. Lost my dad to cancer 4 years ago. Was a big Villa fan and I knew somewhere up there, he's smiling since they got promoted.

I know at times like these, everything else are put into perspective but hopefully Tanguy's impending arrival will cheer u up a bit. Take care mate.

Try to stay strong @Mr Pink . My father-in-law passed away a couple of years ago and it's so hard to take. Obviously my wife took it tough but I felt like I had lost a friend as well.

Remember that nothing can take away your memories.

All the best.

Hey mate, really gutted to hear that. Cancer took my mum some years ago - all I can say is that you try and spend as much time with her as possible (obviously), but more importantly, say the loving things you have maybe been too tough/scared to say all these years. Sometimes as blokes we spend way too much time and energy trying to be the tough guy, etc. It's all bollocks. You'll never regret the reaction - it will mean so much to her.

Be open with your family, let the kids know the full story and how fucked it is. They will eventually understand after the shock wears off a little. Reach out to your friends, this community, etc. Again don't try to be the tough guy. I did at times (as the eldest child) and it was fucking dopey in hindsight.

Stay strong buddy. Here if you need me.

Mr. Pink, I can't say I know what you're going through but all I can say is that the messages of support from everyone on here are hopefully helping in some small way. Wishing you all the best with everything.

Small donation made also.

Right, I've been good to you lot so far and I've not bugged you for donations (yet) so it'd be nice if you could see your way clear to donating toward a good cause.

SC's mummy mod Vics is doing a run for Cancer Research this Saturday and it'd be really nice if we could get her total up a little bit more. I'm looking at some of you lurkers here, sling a fiver in the pot. I'm double looking at some of you who ritually spam the thread, you lot can throw tenners in.

Sorry to hear your news Mr Pink.
My mother passed away from cancer 5 years ago. Spend as much time as you can with her, and make sure you keep chatting to others. I bottled things up initially and it made me ill. Friends, family and forums all helped me get through it.

Stay strong!

Not trying to pick a fight with anyone but guys please please please stop saying Small Donation, any donation is good enough and you shouldn't subtract from your contribution by calling it small. Each and every penny helps and is appreciated and we should all be proud of our contributions. :notworthy:

You work? In an office? I always pictured the gimp basement from Pulp Fiction as your "office"...
