Understand the importance of this so much more now.

Just found out my mum has cancer of the spine, liver and lower part of the brain, obviously very advanced with no recovery ?
So sorry to hear that Pinky. I went through something similar with my mum a couple of years ago. PM me if you want to talk to someone.

My Dad died from mesothelioma. It was really hard. But the pain fades in time and you will eventually be left only with the good memories. I wish you all the very best.

Same for me.

It's a tough time but make sure they know how much you love them

Really sorry to hear that Pink, mate. Like you I use this as an escape from reality's problems (facing potential redundancy to be confirmed this afternoon). As much as we can all argue and bicker we are a family of Spurs fans and ultimately should be there for one another.

Hi Pinky, I'm really sorry to read that. I lost my Mum in March to it, so it's all still very raw, but I came back to SC after a few years away because I knew it was a great place to get some support, and sure enough it has been, and it will be for you as well. Try to stay strong, and make sure to keep telling her how much she is loved.

Really sorry to hear that. Lost both my parents to C., my mum at a relatively young age for her, and thankfully my wife is in remission. Only thing I can say... never take your parents (or any other family member for that matter) for granted, and as already been expressed, cherish every moment you have left with her.

Right, I've been good to you lot so far and I've not bugged you for donations (yet) so it'd be nice if you could see your way clear to donating toward a good cause.

SC's mummy mod Vics is doing a run for Cancer Research this Saturday and it'd be really nice if we could get her total up a little bit more. I'm looking at some of you lurkers here, sling a fiver in the pot. I'm double looking at some of you who ritually spam the thread, you lot can throw tenners in.

Bollocks to the food and rent! Donate now!

Sling a post in here when you've donated for multiple winner ratings

Go on, do it, I'll be especially nice to you for a short while too*

*Minimum 15 minutes, maximum an hour:D

Done. Best of luck!

Done my donation for the run, moneys tight and my mrs is selfishly turning 30 this month so you'll have to wait for my Ndombele pledge until end of the month :(

I don’t post much but really sorry to hear that Mr Pink. Like several others on here I too lost my mum just 18 months ago. Very tough times but just know we are all here to support you as best we can.

Absolutely stunned by how generous everyone's been. I know it's a cause close to a lot of people but still that's an amazing response from all of you. Truly thank you <3

There are never the words for this. I lost my dad four years back and was broken by it. I couldn't work for the best of six months, despite having lots of commitments to deliver things (I write books, games and tv stuff). At the time I was on Spurs Odyssey and the guys there were very kind and offered me a place to vent when, four weeks later my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Mercifully, she's fine. But to be honest, all of it at once, I couldn't cope emotionally. The sheer weight of grief was immense. I don't have much in the way of advice, we all deal with this differently, the only thing I can think to say is try as hard as you can to be kind to yourself. It's a bitch of a process and I certainly had all these ideas about being strong for my sister and mum, and being organised with the funeral and god knows what else, and somewhere along the line I kinda forgot about me. That meant my crash when it came was long and brutal. My heart goes out to you - so much so I made my first post after lurking for about five or six years (edited when I realise it's 11 years of lurking dear lord)... and broke every forum rule by posting it in this thread.

Much love, man.
