Regardless if Zaha plays today for Palace, they have accepted bids as Goat bleated yesterday.

Our package is much better, plus CL, which he really wants. We have never stopped talking to his team. Poch has spoken to him in the past. More I can say on that, but best not to

I have always said we want him, though it may be difficult.

I fancy our chances-Praying hands
Praying hands indeed. Zaha is exactly the kind of game changer we need. Potentially awesome for us with the calibre of players he'd have around him.

Be interested to know if its a case of Zara or Grealish, as previous ITK suggested Grealish might not be 1st choice. And if our bid has been accepted for Zaha, maybe that's what is stalling Grealish deal.
Which in turn, adds up to more ITK about a deal that has an effect on multiple deals....
We sign Zaha, which ends interest in Martial and Grealish and we keep Toby?
I could only imagine that it would be Grealish and Martial or Zaha and a non HG player in that scenario. With the Zaha or Grealish part being the HG element as they aren’t similar in style. Either way positive news from Herc.

Unless by some miricle the players who are still off due to World Cup duties come back fully fit and ready to play, I have a feeling we're going to start the season very short - which is a bit of a worry

I really don't get why everything has to go to the last day of the window every summer.

Is it really to maximise deals? We haven't done very well with that in the recent past - (Sissoko, Llorente, Lopez, Nkoudou).

Thanks Valencia

This has concerned me recently. So many players playing late into the World Cup Plus new injuries is the US could leave the staring XI pretty thin to start the season.

Toby (?) and Verts should come back fine for the Defending. But Wanyama, Dele and Kane may need a week or two (edit VY saying should be ?)

Zaha/Martial
Grealish
And a CM could be very welcome to help cover August. Although late TW purchases doesn’t help with acclimatisation.

Better late than never though.

Thanks for the info VY. Hopefully we’ll have a decent side to put out for the first game, I’m sure we will as Poch will prepare whoever is fit.

I'm not at all confident or impressed that everything is literally going down to the wire: Deadline Day. Way too risky.

I have no issue with getting Zaha, but has he really done anything to suggest he is a game changer or will be one for us? Personally I don't think so. I don't mind getting Zaha, but I will keep my prayers for a quality CM who we desperately need regardless of Dembele staying.

Christ.

Victor Wanyama, Kazaiah Sterling, Tashan Oakley-Boothe and Brandon Austin all missed the match against Roma and the training session in LA yesterday.

Also at the training session Lamela only lightly jogged around the pitch with one of the fitness coaches. Before returning to the dressing rooms holding a big bag of ice in each hand.

Down to the wire again. I know it is going to happen every year yet every year I let myself think it won't happen that way.

Considering palace got no points literally zero when Zaha didn't play last season then yes, I would say that's prettymuch the definition of a game changer.

What's your definition of a game changer just out of interest?

Well I think Palace’s record with and without him last season proves he is a game changer.
I think now Dembele is staying there is less urgency for a CM, although it would still be a good addition.
But between him, wanyama, Dier, winks and Onomah we’re pretty well covered for this season at least even with the fitness issues some of them have.
