Hope it’s not a mega money bid for one of our star players that will make Levy go weak at the knees and test his resolve.

With the itk’s saying it’ll possibly come down to the last day of the TW, I really think Levy needs to modernise his transfer policy.
Waiting until the end of TW’s hasn’t worked for a good few years now, deadline day is now pretty much dead for transfers compared to what it used it be. Very few teams wait until late and have sown up all their business, meaning they won’t be forced into selling someone to get a player in.
Also transfer fees have been massively hiked towards the back end of TW’s. Look at last year, Neymar’s transfer increased every other one by a big margin. Possibly if we had gone in early, we could’ve got Sanchez for less as the market had gone crazy by mid August. May have happened with Grealish this year.
Also the Sissoko transfer. We could’ve got a few better players in early (Zaha) that transfer window for less than we paid for Sissoko but Levy thought they were overpriced. Newcastle stuck to their guns and we paid more for Sissoko in the end cos we were desperate and got a worse player.
Massive Levy fan but think he’s stuck in the past when thinking value can come from waiting.

Didn't we get Llorente and Aurier on deadline day last year?

I think you've absolutely nailed it. In the Zaha thread there's an interview about how he likes to feel wanted. Very risky game to play waiting on Martial as i'm sure Zaha would be aware he's only second choice. I just don't trust United so we should deal for Zaha as he's still a good option that Poch is obviously happy with.

from what I read on yesterdays ITK is we are waiting for Zaha to choose, so how is it our fault if he decides to go to Chelsea other than not offering him more last season. if a bid has been accepted, and Zaha prefers our terms it isn't us now holding up the deal

Fasten your seat belts people. We are about to see what our chairman is made of. I can’t share more on here.

Hopefully it’s not a typical Levy wonderbra moment.

You get excited about what you’re about to get and it ends up being tiny.

Hercs is sounding more positive lately. I think Levy has his targets all lined up now and we're just waiting for him to pull the trigger. Maybe this will be the window where it all comes together. I can see a scenario where he brings in 3 top players but somehow doesn't spend any money.

I hope Herc is referencing something big and positive and not just having to go all out for Grealish now Villa have gone public with wanting to keep him.
