The key point here is Jorge Mendes, his involvement in Wolves and his connections to Jose. That’s maybe how this deal gets done.

You could definitely see Mendes telling them "I've sorted out your whole squad for you, don't make this difficult". It's mad how much power he has

Now it’s out happy to confirm the right back is Doherty

he is the only wolves player we are after

those doubting the chances of this do not dismiss the Portuguese influence here and agents involved

then

I have no idea where he got the number from , Alistair has good contacts at the club though my suspicion is they leaked that number to get the price down

we were quoted 35 last week , I can tell you we are struggling to get Milan even to 18-20 right now on aurrier and that needs to happen first , but the boy would like to come and wolves are obviously looking for a replacement

then

Doherty is first choice

He specifically states that Doherty is the one Wolves player we’re after, which in turn rules out Jimenez being the striker target he alluded to in the last piece of ITK he posted yesterday.

Yeah, interesting. He's set out so many bits of information that would seem to disqualify most names. It seems there is one, maybe two obvious names left. Something for your own musINGS.

Very good point. Without causing a guessing game who the bloody hell is ge talking about as the 50m number 9 striker?

I suspect for that striker and the numbers Wilfried Zaha could fit the bill? Breezer already gave some itk that we are in for him.

Would be fine with Doherty. There are worse optionsout there.

barca want a fee for rakitic as things stand we will only do a loan as he is 32 but Jose loves him
then
if the club would sanction it Jose most definitely thinks he has another season in him for sure

then with regards to some fringe players being bought

the reality is there has to be buyers for these players and other than tangy and serge who we have had bids for but not at the right level we have no interest in players currently and to be frank only Kane , son and gio are untouchable right now we would look at all other bids
we have very little money , the right back we really want they are asking 35 million and the striker 45-50 , these deals only happen if serge and tangy go and we recoup 60-65 million

tangy is also on massive money shifting him would also allow for a couple of loans

then

tangy only goes for 42 mill otherwise he stays put
Interesting stuff, this ITK seems like we are waiting for different things to move for us to then make moves which is usually what happens in transfer windows the issue this time round is that we are heavily reliant on sales because of Covid. And for those who question why we have no money I think even Levy’s most ardent hater should be able to fathom that with a global pandemic and no clear sign as to when fans are allowed back into the ground that we have no guarantee of any income anytime soon so are burning through cash reserves so are simply not able to go and spunk £30,40,50m on players without re-couping some incomings first.

Its frustrating after a very positive start to the window but it’s not surprising that this transfer window is going to be a slow one with less movement than usual unfortunately.

I suppose it seems to be weighing up the pro’s and con’s.

So someone like Rakatic Loan is something opportunistic whereas our strategy for RB and ST seems from what Dragon and other ITK’s have said to be top targets Doherty and a £30-50m striker but they depend on outgoings, and mabye we have a fall back plan for much cheaper alternatives if we can’t shift Aurier and/or Ndombele or any others.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

On his next piece of ITK I think £30m for Doherty is mabye a little much given his age but then again he is probably one of the top 2/3 RB’s / RWB’s in the whole league, there is TAA then Pereria and Doherty mabye joint 2nd, he knows the league, he’s fit Jose’s advanced RB role like an absoloute glove, he can play 2 games a week, he can defend, he’s tall and he can get goals and assists, and he’s in his prime and probably has a good 3-4 years left at a very good level. We don’t make these types of signings but really it would be such a sensible move if we can make it work financially, also it would weaken one of our rivals so if we can get it done for say £20-25 with add-ons I’d absolutely love us to sign him, can’t think of many better more suitable options. We cant keep just buying players with potential, we need to get a few who are ready to go and ones who are PL proven as well is a bonus :)

The ITK so far are fairly consistent in one thing. There’ll be very little, if any, net spend. Not massively different from how many of the transfer windows pan out. What I will say so far....can’t recall being so underwhelmed by the names being mentioned. Almost tempted to stick with what we have and try out some of this youth talent.

It’s very scattergun... a couple of weeks ago we had PEH inbound, talks with a RB advanced and Wilson sounding imminent. With Jose also wanting a 2nd RB, CB and a LB. Present day PEH has signed but it’s now one in one out and/or TN must be sold to fund incomings.

We had ITK’s naming Celik, Castagne and Aarons but now we apparently want Doherty who’s going to cost more than the max amount all of the ITK’s have stated that we’re prepared to pay.

Outgoings - Aurier was pretty much gone but now no one will pay what we want.

It’s all coming across as a standard disorganised window.

You only hear what the rumours are not the facts. The names maybe on a list but they have their first choice and backup options. Just because You don’t have the full picture doesn’t mean it’s Scatter Gun.

Now Sissoko THAT was scattergun. It’s like the final minutes at the night club and your Free drinks voucher needs to be used and there’s only Sherry or Cointreau left.

Mendes might also want to move one of his younger RBs to wolves (unless they plan to play Maitland-Niles there).

If giving Jose a player he really wants facilitates that then even better.

Neither have Barcelona. He is still a top class midfielder and would instantly be one of our best players.
We've had some of our best players off the back of being uninspiring or flops elsewhere. It's no surprise that good players can look bad in a bad team.

Pretty sure the ITK said outside London, not in the bottom 3, and not in the top four (or something like that) which would rule out all of the obvious guesses like that.
