Can a Rakitic thread be started if there is ITK on him, but no media article? If so, can one of the mods or @THFCSPURS19 start one please.

Think we were only one of of the few clubs that was eligible due to our accounts showing profits

Man Utd took a £140m loan from Bank of America at the end of May, it was original going to be used for transfers as they only had £90m in the bank, but more than likely now being used to cover covid loses.

Before the stadium was built we were using a £100m a year from our cashflow to buy up land. Were no longer spending that and the interest on the new stadium in a faction of that.

From the ITK it looks like we will spend money were it's desperately needed and looks at trading up other positions if an opportunity arises.

We need a team back rather than a bunch of individuals we had last season.

Rakitic would be an incredible signing, absolutely incredible.

Couldn't say it any louder @HildoSpur !!!

I was slated for suggesting it yesterday... though it went pretty quiet once the ITK info suggested Jose was interested.

Would love to see him in our squad. Calm, smart and reassuring..and a leader...what's not to like (Winks/Moussa or Rakitic??) ?

It’s very scattergun... a couple of weeks ago we had PEH inbound, talks with a RB advanced and Wilson sounding imminent. With Jose also wanting a 2nd RB, CB and a LB. Present day PEH has signed but it’s now one in one out and/or TN must be sold to fund incomings.

We had ITK’s naming Celik, Castagne and Aarons but now we apparently want Doherty who’s going to cost more than the max amount all of the ITK’s have stated that we’re prepared to pay.

Outgoings - Aurier was pretty much gone but now no one will pay what we want.

It’s all coming across as a standard disorganised window.
But that’s only if you take the ITK without salt (not recommended) and take it all at face value in the exact timing and sequence you receive it.

Different people will receive different snippets at different times. It’s not supposed to organize into one neat little timeline.

mots the same every window, starts out positive - get one in and everyone is happy to learn we’ve got multiple ducks lined up, then we hear stories of goalposts being moved, we’ve got no money etc - it’s standard spits for everywindow

Apart from the other 17 or so right now? This particular retort is getting boring now, too.

Also, ITK have said that it's about moving players out, not a cashflow issue.

Indeed. Not exactly one in one out, but we need to shuffle the pack to make room. Non HG is an issue, making it more like a Soduku puzzle than just filling in the blanks.

DL has one eye on another potential lockdown(many experts saying it'veey possible) happening in the winter, and another large loss of incoming revenue. We are trying to maneuver in such a way that should this happen, we will feel as little impact as possible.

Outgoings are always an issue for us mainly because DL tries to extract the absolute maximum out of every one. We usually get it, but it takes a lot longer to happen. I said a month a go TN was a goner, that looks to be almost certain now. Bids for both him and Aurier, and shifting those two clears the way.

Still expecting at least 2 in and likely a 3rd

£30m on a mid-table player who turns 29 in January is.. something.
I know it feels like we are living in the Graham years or late AVB years Signing Dempsey, Siggy from mid table teams instead of really improving the squad. Not quite a transitional season but a season of trying to build on a squad that has major holes and little high potential players in key areas. Most of our team are at the peak of their abilities/prime:
Moura
Dier
Sissoko
Winks
Davies

and better class players at their peak like Son and Kane.
arguably the only player we have with a high ceiling who can improve is Lo Celso and the only promising youngster with Good potential is Sess. I can’t see a team that will grow or develop. And signings like these don’t help.

Tbh the positions that we really need is RB and CF. AMC maybe but I see it as a bonus
We have a big lack of creativity imo Lo Celso alone is not enough so I think a 3rd signing is absolutely necessary if we can’t get anything out of ndombele
