But hasn't been that effective in his career and is rather predictable player and once PL defenders get to know him, well. At the moment I would play Townsend, but if I had to choose wether to keep him or Aaron in the squad. Aaron easily.
I think a lot of you are too sentimental. Even before the rennasiance of Townsend, I always thought that Lennon had peaked some years ago when he was skimming left full backs for a joke. In MY opinion, he now just does this in spurts, as if he is now afraid to take on defenders as he use to do. The only good thing that he has developed in his game, is his defensive awareness. Again my opinion. So not being a sentimentalist with regards to players, I would be sorry to see him go, but would not lose any sleep.................And oh, for the record, I would rather sell him than Townsend.

Lamela and vlad I would think get announced later today , bale then will be announced and we all know levy loves a surprise , I think we might bid for shaw from Southampton as the left back then that will leave a mental bid for someone on final day . Maybe levy wipes the grin off Mourinho and gazumps his bid for rooney watch this space

We can bid for Shaw but clearly Soton have money so no need or desire to sell Shaw and Shaw has suggested he is happy there at this stage and wants to continue developing there even if at some point in the future he might look to move
Add to that he is a Chavs fan even if he were to think of moving I would imagine they would be in for him. Good young player with a lot of potential but I just don't think he'll be moving this season, on the other hand maybe we feel he might be more likely to consider moving next summer and that's why there's a suggestion of the Roma guy as an experienced stop gap

shaw also signed a new contract last season, only a massive bid would see him move this year

Shaw is not better than BAE, not yet. His value is that he is so young, he should hopefully continue to improve for several years. He would be a great option for the future, but if you aren't comfortable with Rose starting this year then you shouldn't be comfortable with Shaw either.

I have a questions for those that say "if we sign player x I'm going to wank myself silly / to death/ cross eyed / dry. When you wank are you thinking of player x pulling on their spurs shirt or are you thinking about some nubile stumpet with massive gravity defying breasts?
