As i mentioned before DC also looking for ideal replacement for Alonso/Mascherano though they left some time ago, Liverpool feels they have not been ideally replace...So Adam, Diarra and Gourcouff. Adam because he's cheaper and they will get to use most money for Suarez.
Bassong also on their list with Kaboul. Obviously not happy with Konchelski and looking for a young(er) versatile defender.
Krankie...Young (they think they can get him cheap too)...
They want good players on cheap!

everyone wants good players cheap. they will probably submit a lot of low ball bids and get nowhere. if they don't sign suarez i could see them picking up a couple smaller deals to improve the squad. honestly, they could spend money in any position (except GK) and it would be a good investment. need CBs, FBs, another quality midfielder (they seriously have like 0 wide midfielders). shouldn't be too hard for them to find someone that will help.

in my opinion if Suarez does go to liverpool its only cos we never really wanted him, im sure levy has a good thing sorted but im beginning to doubt whether its suarez

I concur with that and add, that when we are doing a deal like Modric and Berbatov the ITK is unknown as we have to keep it very quiet and to not inform anyone or to disclose any info or we could wreck the deal through confidentiality or by alerting other teams and get into a price war, this i think is happening with Suarez and why we are not really or firmly being mentioned in the press.
In reality a lot of ITK comes out once the initial contact or deal has been done which is after the events, though we like to think we are at the cutting edge of what is happpening in reality it has been going on for months and we are just hearing the end of the deals or chats in the last few days.
The posters who question if we are actually doing anything or risk losing incoming players through our lack of activity or too hard bargaining from Levy unfortunately do not understand the whole process.
Adief is very close with his source but i imagine his source is a day or 2 behind the info so as to not jeopardise any deals. The board and management are not stupid and they are aware of ITK and understand what is going on.:wink:

100%, I know this is true as being from South Africa, the Everton Supporters Club of Cape Town members knew last year already that Steven Pienaar was joining us as he confirmed it to them after the game between South Africa and the USA.

I find this hard to believe tbh, I am sure any agent goes round to all leading clubs to try get the best bargain and if he doesn't then the player should dump his agent as he is doing a piss poor job, I don't believe that clubs can secretly negotiate without other clubs knowing, say we were negotiating with Carroll for example surely Carroll's agent is going to be phoning City/Utd/Scum/Chelsea to see if they can offer a better deal behind our backs
