I'm sort of relieved the Bale deal has been sacked off this soon in the window. It would have been very time consuming and complex and might never have materialised.
This can free up resources and time to focus on other key areas and save us all getting our hopes up and possible disappointment that would have ensued.
That said it would be amazing to have him back.

If Villa win, great, we may have more chance of getting Sessegnon. However, IF that happened, how much game time do people believe the lad would get (genuine question, never even watched the kid play).
If Fulham win, by all accounts, he's likely to want to stay and help them remain in the PL (sure I've read that somewhere?). So, still buy him & instantly loan him back for a season. Would allow him the opportunity to do what he thinks is best for the club he clearly respects for their part in his career so far, would allow Fulham to keep hold of their best player and it would give him more time playing PL football (than he'd get with us, surely?). Basically he'd be getting experience we could do with him getting, but with no risk to ourselves on the pitch. Surely not a bad compromise for everyone concerned?
