Personally that’s not how I read what Herc was saying, but not going to get into a conversation about interpretation of emojis cause that’s bound to wind A&C up.

This I like! It's what the Canadians call "getting their ducks in a row". Sometimes we just have to wait for the trigger mechanism to fall, then, if the cards are stacked correctly, they all fall down! I also like that there are players we are after that are not in the news.

I think most expect Pochettino's contract to be the trigger in this.

Maybe its my poor interpretation, but it sounded like City's owners were cooling suggestions that they were spending more to add to their squad in their recent quotes. Wouldn't be surprised if they expected to actually use their academy for once.

It certainly doesn't sound like we're out of the market for a Martial-esq player, but on topic of him, if I remember his leaked purchase documents well enough, it might be more profitable for united to sell him for a less-than-galactic fee. I'm just not sure they will want to sell him to us as much as we wouldn't want to sell TA domestically.

Very excited about the prospect of Martial, him under Poch could be amazing! Don’t see it happening without Toby going the other way though...not sure I’m 100% behind that yet.

I wonder how any potential move for Martial would effect our interest in Bale. I would much rather sell Toby abroad then swap him with Utd for Martial. Toby would be a huge bonus for any team and Utd really need to fix their defence. I don't see how selling him there helps us.

Agree, plus I'd take Bale over Martial everyday of the week, despite Martial being young with loads of potential.

I agree with you about the quality of Toby, but I think the defence relies on the system the manager decides to play. If the midfield doesn’t protect it in the way then they will be in trouble. United fans are seemingly demanding a certain style, which is anti Maureen. I can only anticipate trouble there, whoever they bring in. I therefore predict Toby won’t be the player there that he was here. Smalling and Jones are not my favourite players, but they’re by no means the worse in the league, so I put this down to the manager.

I reckon we would get the better part of the deal, with a higher possible ceiling. Toby, although good will be on a downward trajectory, whereas Martial upward.
