Monaco don't pay tax and a new rule has come in that all top flight French teams have to play tax so it's unsure whether Monaco will play in the top league despite being promoted to it. Or something like that anyway. Feel free to correct me if i'm talking rubbish.

Ah, so they either 'step in line' with the rest of France, or they can Foxtrot Oscar..

I like that BUT there'll be the argument that'll stem from the fact that they've been playing in France/the French leagues, for many many years without this being an issue. So I fail to see what grounds they'd have to suddenly change what's stood for so long already? Sounds like a massive bag of worms to me. Surely they'd argue that any 'new rule' would need to be implemented over time?

My girlfriend is Spanish and knows nothing of Villa coming to Spurs except that I mentioned it a few weeks ago. Would be ironic because whenever I ask her whether a male mate is cool or typically Spanish I always use DV as the example of the latter.

Of course she could use Wayne Rooney as the English but I not only digress but can't really remember what I was on about

And, of course, we will all assume he got this info from AVB? That's not a dig, it's a genuine statement born from the fact that it's almost accepted now that any article from Jason Burt about THFC/AVB, will have been sourced from AVB himself.

I'd assume he's running his THFC/AVB articles by AVB at least if they're not coming directly from him (both for confirmation and to make sure the information isn't too harmful). Another factor to consider is he's the go-to man if AVB wants to leak something so there can be a political tint to the stories (i.e. the none-too-subtle "AVB's convinced Villa, Levy you'd better reward his efforts and loyalty by paying up for him" subtext of the last one).

Ex Matlow (Cornish born based in Devonport), moved out to 'Lloret de Mar', 4 years ago after being discharged on emotional grounds due to losing his wife in a road accident & being left with a son and a daughter to care for. Felt leaving the country was his best chance of a clean break.

Don't ever post anything even remotely itk (as I don't get anything!) but my mate recently got a job within Spurs. Gave him a text earlier to see how new job was going etc and he got back to me a few moments ago. Basically after the formalities he said he went out for drinks with colleagues other night.... Obviously convo turned Spurs related as most are big fans and his boss hears the odd snippet of info and told him apparently Paulinho v. close but not as imminent or clear-cut as people are claiming. Hopefully get more info but we will see. Pinch of salt and all that.

Thanks for the neg rep 'Leigh'. Apologies for pointing out that it was stated earlier that Paulinho's agent was quoted as saying that none of the 'other clubs' interested in Paulinho can offer any European football, which leaves us in the driving seat.

That part points in the direction of the article that was posted in the Paulinho thread earlier on today, which stated it was being held up by 3rd party payments
