Not from my normal source, but a mate of mine has heard something in Italian press tomorrow re a Brazillian No idea , but thought I would share. On what Peanut has said, he is right that very unlikely anything done in next 48 hours, but we are talking on several fronts.

I'm discounting the Brazilian bit as it's not from his normal source, the rest is common sense really.

Yeah a few but for various reasons it's very difficult.

Harry wants someone who can play up front on their own - lead the line, hold the ball up, link up with vdv, modric etc and with the pace and movement to get on to through balls and stretch defences. And goal a shedload of goals. Not many who fit the criteria who are available and realistic.

I think he means score a shedload of goals.

Finally, adiepf disagreed with peanut (update 120) and some poster or another in yesterdays thread when he said........

levy was 100000% in spain yesterday evening, 100000%

Not eveyone seems sold on Negredo - i thought before and even now that he seems really good. Movement of the ball, strong in the air, he takes the penalties, very fast and mobile and can hold the ball up well.

I dont think you can say Huntelaar and Kuyt have "failed" abroad...

They may not have scored goals for fun, but Kuyt typically now plays in a different position for Liverpool than he did for Feyenoord, and Huntelaar has only now found a club where he is playing regularly as one of the two first choice strikers..

Agreed. But IMO that stance will cost us a CL place. I understand that getting the right striker is vital and at the end of the day Harry will know better than any of us.

But the fact is our strikers are not putting the ball in the onion bag. They might well start to, but what if they dont? And what if our midfield stop producing the goods? It'll be 5th or 6th for me.

Our forward line needs freshning up. Even if its just a loan signing. It might just light a fire under their arses.

I've been looking at the Suarez vids and good as he is, I am not convinced that he is the type of player that Harry is looking for. Assuming that Harry wants someone to take the sole striker role then maybe a player like Carroll or Hulk would seem more appropriate.
