Thanks as always Herc! Personally i am minded to think Kane, Son, Moura and Parrott is enough cover for the CF role however i certainly wouldn't be against Llorente signing for another year or another experienced back up (i.e. Sturridge) coming in to bolster things.
Sturridge would shatter during his first training session and we would end up wasting wages on an unmotivated crock.
We're above that sort of thing now, we'll leave that to West Ham.

I'd be happy to stick with what we've got, plus Lo Celso, who has played as a false nine before too.

Last August i mentioned that MP wanted to promote/use more youth and i think looking at the squad yesterday we are starting to see that plan moving forward....

That is great and I really hope that will be the case this season. However, playing the youngsters in a pre season friendly is one thing, let's see if Poch plays them when it matters. Despite his reputation for bringing through youth, he hasn't always taken risks with younger players when the results actually matter. Playing an out of form/injured Trippier/Wanyama over KWP/Skipp are just a couple of very regular examples from last season. That's not a criticism of Poch by the way, fucking love the man, just an observation.

I'm liking the idea we could become known as a top club for youth to come to. A bit like the initial excitement when linked to some lad coming through the Ajax or Barca academy. Might give us a chance to catch the next Mbappe etc before the RM and Barca type clubs, if the kids think they could hit our first team squad earlier. We did hear that we have to play our transfers game different to the elite/money clubs.

Or just loan them and sell with profit in future like City are doing now.

A model where we fill supporting roles with talented youth and spend the right money to get in big talents can only be beneficial imo. We’ve been great in the Poch era but our only flaw has been the “squad role” signings of players like Nkoudou, Janssen etc. The youth we have right now can do a better job with the right motivation.
I nearly criticized you not realising you were an ITK. Why not go blue?

There is nothing wrong with a constructive criticism. Its a positive attribute

I think we should stop right here with mentioning Sturridge from Herc's info.

But Levy stealing his dog to pay us a signing on bonus is brilliant.

With all the positivity and possibility of superb incomings, I have a feeling the club is really on the push to try and win the league next season, especially when we were so close to winning the CL last season.

I think considering the age of the incomings and potential incomings: NDombele (22), Lo Celso (23), Sessengnon (19), Clarke (18) we're trying to build a team that consolidates itself as top 4 team for the next five years and reaches its peak in 2-3 years in the hopes that City/Liverpool will have fallen off a bit by then.

It's pretty hard to imagine us making up 26-27 points to catch Liverpool and City next season, even if our signings hit the ground running.
