No hope of us signing Gómez, and Benzema has had serious problems finding the back of the net since he joined Real.

Carroll would do most of that, the amount of knockdowns he would give someone like VDV is unreal, most of Nolan's 10 goals have come from Carroll

Was really impressed with him when France played England a couple of months back, and he was really rated at Lyon. Maybe a move from Madrid is what he needs to get his career back on track.

Dont think they will sell though with the shortage of strikers though, but Mourinho really doesnt seem to want him so could happen, maybe on loan?

fucked if i know what's going on anymore.

There was a point when it seemed that we were going to lose out on Suarez, then it looked like we were his only and prefered option, and now we've come full circle to being no nearer a new striker than we were 3 weeks ago.

Assuming you follow the ITK at face value, that is.

The long and the short if it is you can treat football like a business as much as you want to, but it is still far removed from any other kind of industry.

If we want players like described above we need to meet the going rate and pay a shit load of cash. sometimes it works out (Modric, Berbatov) & sometimes its not going to (Bentley, Rebrov, some would argue Pav as he's not made himself a regular starter)

we can only hope... would €25-30 do it?

Obviously things change but this article suggests it'd take quite a lot (of money and club appeal) to prise him from/out of Porto.

"Hulk will not leave Porto when the market reopens.

"(He will) only move if the club believe that we are facing a deal of lifetime, but our thinking does not entail a transfer at this time.

"Hulk wants to win the title for Porto and the fans."
Fonseca also told Antena 1 of Hulk's contract at Porto: "The termination clause is very high.

"The president [Pinto da Costa] has said he wants to keep him at the club for a long time.

"The biggest clubs in world football are watching. They send observers, but that does not mess with Hulk."

How did we all cope without ITK before the advent of the internet age?

By constantly checking Teletext, oh how I miss those days of waiting for the fucking thing to change to the next page, taking my eye off it for a moment then realising it'd gone past the info and starting the wait all over again...

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and suggest that we won't sign a striker between now and the time i get up at 7am.

So without further ado, night all.
