Ach... Lavezzi is too old surely.
Saying that I think the squad would benefit from a VDV style older player, to come in and lead the way. Not saying it's him but a talisman with experience could be good
30 isnt too old, IMO. We could get a good 2 or 3 seasons out of him. He's a great player, IMO. But there's little to no sell on value, which is why Daniel probably never even thought twice about it.

Dembele is one of the best players to protect a ball in the Premier League. And he can dribble past players with ease. His main problem is that he can't shoot effectively on a regular basis. Capoue was brought as a defensive midfielder with a great long ball. He lost his place in the team due to an off-field altercation I presume. (Kaboul, Capoue, Ade, Lennon incident). Turgid sideways passing comment really doesn't apply here in my opinion.
There may have been an off-field altercation but I don't think that was the reason Capoue lost his place, he was, in my humble opinion, a waste of space and the fact that Mason spent his time chasing all over the pitch making his tackles for him because he never broke into a run was I believe, a major reason for the off-field altercation.
Don't know anything about Kramer but can't help wondering why he is out on loan.

Can't see PSG selling Rabiot, he's started to see much more daylight this season and is doing very well and helps their FFP compliance to boot.

I like Rabiot, I think he'd be a good signing, but be surprised if he'd be cheap now even if PSG would sell.

It seems to me that after the Stoke match everything changed. Capoue lost his place. Kaboul lost his place. And Ade and Lennon were used sparingly. There has been ITK talk about this. I don't think Capoue is as poor as you make out.

Someone on FTL has heard we've agreed a deal. Sounds like it's a bit "mate of a mate has said" type thing rather than decent ITK.

I'll have to comfort my self with some of @DaSpurs enthusiasm, and pray that he is right and I am wrong.
I suppose the case is that we need strengthening in that part of the team, and there are very very few viable options. In fact, maybe only 1 or 2 feasible players out there.
